    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

For an unbiased review of drugs, see the Consumer Reports book on drugs, which was written with the collaboration of a score of doctors and scientists who are experts in the field: _Licit and Illicit Drugs_. EM Brecher and the Editors of Consumer Reports. Mount Vernon, NY: Consumers Union...

    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

[SORRY ABOUT THE FOLLOWING, I KNOW IT IS A LITTLE OFF-TOPIC] STOP IT!!!! You can be pain free. Stop being a martyr...or if you not trying to be a martyr, don't fall for the myths!!! Find a courageous doctor (there are plenty). Get a proper prescription to alleviate most or all of that...

    Chicago Et Meet

Yes, I will chime in here as another ETer who was fully in attendance last night (caveat though that attendance was in physical form only as my mental faculties diminished significantly after 2 hours of merriment and lager ....and oh yeah, that damn scotch!). It was a lot of fun; interesting...

    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

I just said that because I didn't want to sound like I was correcting everyone. Nobody likes those who claim they know all. Regarding pain...yes that is a common response to that theory. People will say "without pain we would have no great music or art, etc."....perhaps. But while we...

    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

I am not trying to be omniscient on this topic, but I believe opiates ( as well as many others things to a lesser degree) are psychotropic. Any drug which can change the way you feel, affect your behavior or emotions would be considered psychotropic. Opiates, whether in pain or not, make me...

    Zoloft

That sounds plausible, but think about what deja vu feels like....you are doing something or are somewhere and you know you had at one time done that something or were at that location before, but you can't really find it in either the short term or long-term memory... deja vu doesn't feel like...

    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

I don't know if you were trying to use this extreme contrast to your experience with antidepressants and anxioltics (the benzodiazipines, i.e. xanax, valium, and the others) to "make a point", but please be aware (and remember I not advocating the use of anything), that opiates, when they are...

    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

I agree with first and foremost. If you could put all the benefits of regular exercise in a pill it would be the best-selling drug in the history of all medicines. And I would tend to believe that long-term use of any psychotropic drug would begin to have detrimental effects that would...

    Zoloft

You needed to keep reading..... All of these antidepressants--save for a few available in the US (there are more in Europe) such as Wellbutrin (which has no direct effect on Seratonin) and Effexor (blocks reuptake of serotonin and norephedrine, and in higher doses dopamine)--are pure SSRIs...

    Zoloft

I would have to fall on the "don't bother" side of the ol' antidepressant debate. I was on Effexor for 2.5 years and while it did help, in retrospect, I would say that this benefit was not worth (i) the withdrawals from the drug, (ii) the high cost (for the short period when I was not covered...

    Any traders with ADD/ADHD?

I definitely think anyone who is drawn to trading has some form or another of ADD, and if not, there are plenty of symptoms that would fit most traders (i.e., the need for excitement, restlessness, usually above-average intelligence). Working-out is key for ADD, and the #1 remedy is Adderall...

    Chicago Et Meet

Alright, but I too am confused now...there is the grand Feb. 28 get together, but there seems to be some interest getting together this week as well. I want to confirm that the Feb. 28 Saturday is still on as that is the main one in my calendar (and the one where I need to block off 2 days--one...

    Chicago Et Meet

I belong to EBC. That wouldn't be a bad place to meet, but I think we should consider places to migrate to if there is a desire for some excitement. Unless you guys want to all go workout. :D If Hooters is not on everyone's top ten list (and I am fine with that), we should just meet at a...

Any drugs, herbs, or dietary supplements that improve trading?

I have heard that gamma hydroxy butyrate is terrific at removing the fear aspect from your trading WITHOUT precipitating recklessness at all. However, that's only one emotion. If greed affects you, it still will be a difficult to be profitable consistently.

Market Depth Revisited: globex, esignal, and more!

Whether the market is driven by the "impatient" market orders which are not reflected in the bid/ask or the institutional red herring bid/offers, it would appear that, notwithstanding classic lessons on DOM (see http://www.cbot.com/cbot/pub/cont_detail/0,3206,909+15731,00.html ), it seems it...

Market Depth Revisited: globex, esignal, and more!

I thank everyone for their posts. I have gained some new insights regarding DOM. One additional question however... from the information I have come across, most people tend to follow a maxim that "high bid volume=bullish energy and higher ask volume=bearish energy". This would tend to...

Market Depth Revisited: globex, esignal, and more!

I am well aware that when watching DOM what I believe to be happening much of the time is not what actually is happening. I do very much want to make progress in this area, because, as Jack says, the mechanics behind the DOM are comprised of basic trading tenets. Perhaps my fear of not...

    ES Breakout (30 Jan 2004)

I will keep this mind Monday. Is this related to your thread, i.e. would this call have been part of your discussion and teaching of the 2 bar charlie method? I liked many parts of that thread.
