The new German derivatives trading tax law

Easy. You take total profits and subtract losses from it, but only up to a certain amount (20k in Germany). So at the end of the year you can pay tax even if your account is negative. More info here: German derivatives traders shocked by new tax law

The new German derivatives trading tax law

Has anything changed? Was it just some kind of a mistake? Or are they really serious about limiting taxation of losses only up to 20k for ALL derivatives? The middle of the fiscal year is almost here, there's still time to leave the country ... or not.

Why do people use Tradingview if your Broker let's you use Charts for free?

Regarding my previous comment about Lynx: I got more into options trading and found out Lynx has double the commissions of IBKR. So I've opened an account with IBKR (UK) directly. Everything is the same, even the bank account in Frankfurt at Citi is the same. Just instead of Lynx Basic there's...

Why do people use Tradingview if your Broker let's you use Charts for free?

It's not a CFD broker. Forex trading is unavailable for retail, except simple conversions. It's a restriction of IB. The minimum deposit is not 4000 EUR but 3000 EUR 3000 EUR is "an extremely high minimum deposit" ? IB requires $10k. Lynx is nothing else but a wrap around Interactive Brokers.

Why do people use Tradingview if your Broker let's you use Charts for free?

Lynx is an European IB reseller incorporated in the Netherlands, but basically German. They operate in multiple EU countries. I've been using them for 3 years already and I have only good experience with them. Their Lynx Basic web trading interface is way more pleasant to use than the IB's TWS...

Why do people use Tradingview if your Broker let's you use Charts for free?

Because I'm signed up with Lynx(IB) and their charts suck. Especially the TWS is horrendous.

    WSBets' coup has succeeded

Speaks in Booleans ran a text analysis on their reddit and Twitter accounts and found out that there's a 87% match in their vocabulary, phrases and sentence structure. They both post during the same hours. And jartek was the only one who ever "verified" and "spoke" to the WSBGod.

Cyprus - taxes on full time trading?

Hey all, I've been thinking of moving to Cyprus due to their 0% capital gains tax and low/normal cost of living. I trade stocks and options, sometimes forex. I know in some countries trading for a living, i.e. trading as the only source of income or frequent trading, are taxed as income, not...
