I need to learn markets dynamics, structure...what book..resource?

Of course I didn't mean to suggest trading an event happened three times in a century, nor the book underlines things like seasonality. I was only pointing the fact that abstract speculations/calculations resulted in conclusions matching reality.

I need to learn markets dynamics, structure...what book..resource?

I really agree with both advices. I read "Trading & Exchanges: Market microstructure for practitioners" from Larry Harris and I found it an eye-opener. Through its 600 pages it covers all the basic aspects of markets and trading, highlighting what is really important. It doesn't go to the nuts...

If you were to learn / teach someone a programming language?

Oh, what a need for precision! ;) Though Excel is a spreadsheet and not a programming language (was born without), it HAS a powerful programming language, so I think it's clear that "Yes it is" must be read as "No, but it has one". Here is my PERSONAL view: I'm fed up with all programming...

    132 pip loss today. Ouch.

I agree with exiting according to what the market does, but what about placing stops based on past trades drawdown? That is, suppose I see that lately, when I enter a trade, it rarely goes against me more than 15-20 pips, should I put a stop at that distance from my entry point? Has anyone...

    132 pip loss today. Ouch.

ZenFire Data Feed IB / Ninja

.NET speed terrific compared to VB6? All .NET programs I have used look slow, sluggish and eat memory. A framework slows down everything. Managed code also. It's not a matter of optimization, rather cleanness. Microsoft continue to publish fixes for .NET frameworks. I want to bypass all the...

ZenFire Data Feed IB / Ninja

Thank you, NetTecture. I don't want .NET because of speed and resource wasting, I prefer old VB6 coupled with Assembly to best deal with fast market unfiltered quotes. According to what you say, the only option is Rihtmic API (I should be able to call them from machine code or VB6, right?)...

ZenFire Data Feed IB / Ninja

Hi everyone, I browsed this forum and Internet but I couldn't find a clear answer to my question: can I have a data feed from zen-fire (or rhitmic or whatever) WITHOUT any additional software? Best thing would be to connect through an IP socket to their data server and receive compressed tick...
