I did not know Gene personally, but whenever he responded to any of the threads on this site, he was very professional, and handled himself with class, never giving into the petty squabbles that took place, instead tried to give positive feedback. My condolences to his family.

You are correct, I have never tried to use Hammer charts. The software was meant for trading. When we used Redi, we used First alert for charting. Our office now intergrates Hammer and E-sgnals. I have found this to be a very good combination.

I used Redi plus for years, I have used hammer for 3 months, it was made for traders. We are using E-signal for charting, etc. We have a link from Hammer to E-signal. The traders in my office can hit all ECNs, with Mega swipe, etc. they love it and are doing very well. It is the fastest...

The reason we can enter orders and cancel so fast is because SLK has a dedicated server just for Brights basket orders. We are constantly enveloping our orders during the day to catch any gap up/down prints. It works very well.

Bright just lowered their bullet rates to 1.5 cents per share, 500 share minimum. For new traders, they can use the older version and pay 2.5 cents, 100 share minimum. BTW, the new version of Redi (TIBCO) will soon along us instant access to bullets right form the montage. Also the new basket...

FYI, read the fine print, Bright charges the same commissions for Nyse and Nasdaq. There are no pass thru charges at Bright, but some other firms say they will "rebate if you add to liquidity". They pass all ECN fees to you. You will still be paying more commissions under this plan.

You are correct with regard to Bright, as they do not franchise. They pay for everything; lease, data feeds, computer equipment, etc. I never see a bill and that's the way I like it.
