Mortgage interest on the segment of a mortgage loan through one million dollars is fully deductible at any tax bracket (separate from AMT's impact, of course, which can minimize or eliminate impact of deduction depending on an individual's situation).

Again, I'm referencing the retroactive aspect of the change. I am not as much at issue with the deduction being lost for NEW mortgages going forward.
