    Anyone made money in May?

For equities trading, one of the best month's of the last few years regarding the varied amount of opportunities available.

How long did it take for you to be profitable in daytrading?

That's something I can work with. I am not a scalper and have never been one. However, there are those who are consistently profitable scalping (not that I know any of them).

How long did it take for you to be profitable in daytrading?

I've never met a successful trader of any time frame or method that been so firm like this. Only ones Ive met that acted like that were unsuccessful, at any method, sooo... Where were you years ago with this information? B/4 the tech crash...during the tech crash....after the tech crash.... I...

How long did it take for you to be profitable in daytrading?

Day trading does not equal scalping, rather scalping is one method/strategy used in day trading. Should I say that position trading is stupid and random since some make decisions base on the moon (not equating scalping and the moon decisons, just giving silly example to demonstrate point)?

    Rates on IB Notes

I apologize for posting the above on a public forum. I realize that this is not for public discussion. I would delete the original message if I could. I will no longer post on this thread. If anyone wants to discuss further, hypothetically speaking of course, please pm.

    Rates on IB Notes

Anyone have any idea if they plan to raise the rates on their offerings anytime soon? While the rates have been great for the past few years, they are becoming less attractive, having not changed from that 8% since early 2002 (though still attractive, as I DO consistently contribute to them)...

NYSE trading Dead?? Hybrid??? End of alot of traders

Who the inefficiencies are created for is of little importance. Their existence allows far more than the "good ole boys club" to take advantage of them. Another point is that some here hate the specialist and his games. They want to do away with the spec. so they can get their lightening...

NYSE trading Dead?? Hybrid??? End of alot of traders

Just in case it is not clear from my statements: I PRESUME that specialists make the market LESS efficient, not more efficient. This, I suggest, is a reason why specialist involvement is a good thing for TRADERS. In a perfectly efficient market, trading opportunities are seldom found if at...

NYSE trading Dead?? Hybrid??? End of alot of traders

It's interesting how so many here have the naive idea that the specialist is an enemy to the listed day-trading community. Except on the boards here, where "profitable" traders seem to be everywhere, I have never met a profitable LISTED trader who was happy about the decline of the specialist...

Are there any honest, reliable prop firms out there?

You're right. 50% is not "some". COming from someone with 95-99% payout. Let me clairfy what I mean. The chance though to trade on an entirely different scale with 0 risk with a 50% split can be a very good deal. I don't know squat about swift, and I don't refer to them specifically, but to...

Are there any honest, reliable prop firms out there?

There are many profitable traders that risk their own money in "prop" that would love the opportunity to have 0 risk on firm capital and give up some in way of payout for a chance to trade real size with no risk. (possibly me for one)
