OCR just declared a quarterly div of 2.25 to shareholders on record as of 9/1. They normally pay a .02 div, so I would guess there will be a nice run up through the end of the week, then a possible selloff next week.

POT, MOS... are they going to bounce?

Another pertinent fact to consider: historically, July and August are the lowest performing months for the fertilizer stocks; year after year they've pulled back during these months, then resumed their gradual trend up over time.

POT, MOS... are they going to bounce?

Yes, POT I believe had the highest; however, they have a special "corner" on the potash market, hence the willingness of investors to pay more for greater future earnings. No doubt these stocks had a huge run up on a weakening dollar and then had a natural pull back on a strengthening dollar...

POT, MOS... are they going to bounce?

Texrex, you are right, fundamentally these are solid long term investments. These companies will continue to grow as the demand for their product continues to grow. They are in a long term uptrend for a reason: look at their year-year earnings growth and their projected earnings growth for 2009...

98% of Traders Fail? Says Who...?

    I heard that 100% of traders who counter-trade Cramer are profitable :D :D :D

Are naked puts really this safe????

Yes, this is a solid strategy. I've done this to get a desired stock at a good discount, also done it and got to keep the premium upon expiration, and one time when it became clear a stock might well drop lower than my desired price, I simply bought back the puts close to a break even point.

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

+ $1324 LTD hitting highs and I shorted it @ 20.46, stop at 20.80, initial target 20.26. It dipped close to that and reversed. I saw 2 million shares get bought, which scared me (I got burned on a short once when that happened), so I covered for a $70 gain, figuring I’d wait and see how the...

ES Daytrading: "only 1 trade per day" or "1st trade a loss, rest of day a loss"

I trade stocks, which seems to require more $$ than trading e-minis. I'm planning to explore it though.

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

+ $3666 (1R, I missed all the up and down action on ENER the past two days!) So I start the day with a bracketed order in place for my HW short, stop @ 16.16 just above the 52-week high (it’s been hitting lower highs so I figured this was a safe bet), and my target at 15.80, and lo and...

    How should I invest $10k?

I would recommend taking a small amount ($500) and investing in options. Do your research well and paper trade for a couple months first! High probability options opportunities come along every week: A very strong company with significant earnings growth and upside guidance that has an...

ES Daytrading: "only 1 trade per day" or "1st trade a loss, rest of day a loss"

On 8/5 first thing in the morning I had two stops trigger for a loss of $10,800 on a $130K account as a result of straying from my usual trading strategy. I pretended it was someone else's P&L I was looking at and continued to trade using my regular strategy. I had a loss of $100 on the next...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

Jon, the P/E on CDS is 7 and the P/E on HW is not available because they lost -1.43 per share. HW is trading above its 1-year target price; CDS is trading at half its 1-year target price. HW analysts rate it a hold on average; CDS is rated a strong buy. It's simply inexplicable

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

+ $255 FWLT performing as expected, topping 49.50 a share when the big boys came out to play after lunch today. I closed out the Sept calls from last week earlier in the day for a $200 gain when the stock pulled back; not really sure why since Sept calls still had plenty of time to work and I...
