Austrian economics = faulty due to paradox

Sure increase the G (government spending), lower rates and try to get C and I back up in an attempt to keep Y from crashing. First time this will work like a charm, the next slump might also be avoided but if a bust never happens more risk will be taken and a big crash will sooner or later...

Austrian economics = faulty due to paradox

Why are monopolies in a free society bad, if they engage in predatory pricing to keep rivals out consumers benefit and they grow weaker. The next rival will have a better chance. When monopolies are perpetuated with regulations or funded with taxpayers money different story.

Austrian economics = faulty due to paradox

I guess there is a difference between acting in self interest and doing so in an exploitative way. There is a difference between enriching oneself by selling stuff others agrees to buy and enriching oneself with what is collected through force. Theft by taxation or teft by inflation...

The drop in the US Dollar is stunning

lol but what happens when the last bubble pops, government bonds, more wealth destruction, this cannot be inflationary but rather the opposite, deflation is pretty much locked in at this point, if yields this low cannot stimulate the economy what happens when they get back up? when yields starts...

Nassim Taleb on Charlie Rose: "Massive Deflation Nightmare, Roubini Too Bullish"

I believe you are looking at this from the wrong angle, It does not matter if government or the market is in control stuff needs to go where suff is needed to go to correct future imbalances. The supply of labor will decrease in the western world as more and more people retire, a lot of debt...

    Sentiment Is Too Bullish

The sentiment is not bullish. collective madness is taking over. Is this going to be a lost century, or a once in a millenium buying opportunity. Imagine stocks selling at one tenth of earnings but nobody is buying since they keep falling in a straight line. Imagine the super rich...

    IB Margin Increases Tomorrow Afternoon

you clearly are an idiot, this basicaly renders margin investing using IB a futile endeavour, they are simply not reliable, you can send more money, but what comes next, this is the 5th margin increase affecting me, there is no reason to expect this to be the last.

Effective Monday, stocks with market cap under $100M will be non-marginable at IB

There should be laws against this, raising margin requirements unless the stock or asset class in question is above its 200 day moving average should be illegal, forcing brokers to do more long term planning and thus enabling customers to do the same without having to deal with this kind of...
