    Question about moving averages

I think like anything else, it’s a trading vehicle, that I might use from time to time. But it’s not something I want to hold for a month or more, as my understanding is that it doesn’t track well over long periods of time due to the compounding effect. I haven’t looked at a chart comparison...

    Question about moving averages

Probably strictly ETFs. Index and sector, ultimately maybe ultimately some more focused ETFS, like for example KWEB , XBI, GLD, just as examples. I think MAs have the same application to these as they do to individual stocks. But these instruments lend themselves to longer holds, in some instances.

    Question about moving averages

Honestly, looking to trade on bigger picture stuff, trade less, hold longer, spend less time reading about and researching trading ideas. Want to continue using technical analysis, it’s helped me tremendously, but want to spend more time on guitar and working out

    Question about moving averages

My interest in looking at the weekly charts actually arose from a video I watched…interview with Justin Smyth who is a trader that uses Stan Weinstein’s stage analysis methodology to trade.

    Question about moving averages

I had 4 or 5 MAs on my charts, and yeah it was messy. So now I have 2 and it looks clean and easier to look at price. So I get what you are saying. still I find the MAs useful, for perspective if nothing else.

    Question about moving averages

Community effort to make bank after the coming "big smashola"?

This thread is confusing. Are you actually suggesting buying beaten up stocks with no momentum and holding them for months? Or even years? not saying it’s a bad idea, I’ve done it many times and made shitloads (over time, not overnight). But it’s weird to see that idea floated here. If that’s...

Actually, the low was $13.01 and that was at 9:50. You posted this at 10:41, at which time it was trading at $13.56. It’s 13.80 now. Which just proves that when I put you on ignore a couple weeks ago, I did the right thing, and my mistake was I ignoring you. But i think I’ll wait a while to put...

i know the golden rule is don’t add to a losing position. I think I bought the right stock, using a really bad entry point. I’ll add one more time if it gets to the 20 day (about a point lower) then bounces off it. I have to admit, your post made my laugh out loud. Thanks for the constructive...
