    Spy put vertical

Hi all I am thinking of putting on a weekly vertical spread, based on a research that shows september as the worst month for stock investors. Its the 160/155 debit spread. The price of the sep27'13 160 put implies that we need roughly 3.35 percent down move in the underlying to breakeven. Can...

You gotta like OVTI right now

OVTI is high beta stock so that move today is not so big at all (considering the tension in the market)(VIX).Nasdaq drops the most besides. I think these movements yesterday and today also hat to do with earnings (fund managers, big traders etc. making their bets). Big volume today like yesterday.

    Butterfly Execution Question

Prior to expiration is where you get the most profit from time decay of your middle strike short options assuming they are atm. closing a butterfly

We had an 8 percent down move on facebook today, atticus. It could have been to the upside. Volatility can come any time, the past is nothing, but illusion.

    closing a butterfly

    closing a butterfly

Yes I know they are a nickel, FB can make 5 to 8 procent move in one day, since the ipo there were enough such days. Thats what I want. I really fucked up with that positions, 50 long 33/100 short 35/ 50 long 37, took all my margin.

FB Options starting to trade tomorrow

the premiums are quite high especially in june, not so much in july so if the stock starts to move up, the 10 HV should fall and the front month gamma holders will take the premiums off
