    Save place to trade?

You don't want to lose your money? Really? :) I like TDAmeritrade and Interactive Brokers. Good luck!

    Is IB down?

Really? Monday and Tuesday, I was connected to TWS from open to close, not one drop out. Wednesday, started late (around 10:30) and it was rock solid til close.

Very well done, Interactive Brokers !

I love me some IB. Can't say about stocks but trading futures with Button Trader for the last 2 and a half years. Seen quite a few different markets. NEVER frozen, not a single execution error, excellent fills and speed, very secure, great conservative risk management. The only thing they...

POLL: Made Money or Lost Money today?

I respect anyone that can trade days like this AS WELL as "normal days" (whatever THAT is these days). I find days like this pretty confusing and ALWAYS lose money. They're my sunspot days. Monday the 7th was another one. Lucky for me, they don't happen very often....quite a few lately though :)

    IB API for bracket orders

Perhaps Ninja has improved but when I looked into presending of all orders immediately they didn't allow for it. That was in Feb. I use Button Trader. It's the only front end I could find with the ability. Love it!

    IB connection issue

Thanks Tums, I'm back up...it went out for about 10 minutes...odd. Didn't even reboot.

    IB connection issue

OK, now USfarm and ushmds2a are up and futures came online as I was typing that. VERY strange! Was it just me?

    IB connection issue

I'm logged on to IB TWS (latest release) and I'm getting no data feeds. Under market data connections all I have is the ushmds2a farm, none of the other ones even show up, let alone as disconnected. It says all the regions are up. I've never had a problem in the last 2+ years and IB website says...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

I'm blown away by how few people are posting ! Are people not trading this or are they just too BUSY trading it?

Nobody would want to be short in size going into the close when the Fed and Treasury have shown repeatedly how they intend to act when the markets do the unspeakable and go down.

Is this the volume and volatilty of regular trading?

Dude this is NOT normal. It's a great time to be getting experience but difficult because markets are rarely this frenetic. I mean, we just dropped 10 points on the ES in 3-4 minutes and popped back up 10 the next 3-4. Last Tuesday we were at 1300, on Friday morning we were at 1316 and we...

Guess who's calling Paulson right now asking for a little sugar?

Depends on which you find the most destabilizing. I find lots of small losses don't bother me...but a single large loss is more irritating and causes me to be less likely to take the next signal.

ET should be called ED....Elite Divas You don't like a question someone asked you? Ignore them. If you can't take heat on a message board, how can you take heat on a trade?

    new computer

I recently bought a desktop for trading, Gnome and Landis' advice was very helpful. I have about 20 charts open. I decided to try and future proof my system as much as possible. I got a Dell Precision T3400 with duo core 3Ghz, 2 Gigs of RAM, 160 GB hard drive. I did swap out the NVS290 video...

I've never been a scale out trader but this market has made me a believer in the theory :) I've been long since 1224 and got out at 1279 on the drop last Monday. During that time the ES probably traded a total range of 300-350 points...yet I got 55? In addition to the financial loss of...

I see things the opposite...got a feeling it could get really ugly into the close. Going short here at 1267.25. Stop at 1269.50

    My First Journal

Damn man, spending Sat nights researching the markets and thinking about strategies while showering? You might actually surpass my dedication (or obsessiveness, depending on your POV) if you turn down sex from your GF because you are engrossed in your charts :) Of course, I wasn't doing that...
