    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

Jrrvat, If I am understanding you correctly, are you implying using the 3LB chart as more of an "anchor" chart showing the trend, and using the candlestick chart provided as more of an "entry" chart?

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

To be honest, I havent read the ENTIRE thread, but read alot of it, but the remarkable thing that strikes me is that looking at along of the chart examples, how truly amazing price action coupled with S/R is. I also find the themes similar to Anek's PA thread, its just that moving averages...

    Execution Trader Jobs ???

I think this is your best bet. I dont know what exact type of program is best, but I would say it wont matter.. What will matter is your ability to network through alumni, and network through friends and family... And if you are an attractive female, that will increase your chances of...

    Execution Trader Jobs ???

I am little bit late to this party, but perhaps I can offer some advice. Execution jobs dont really exist anymore (ok a few do, but those people are hanging on by a thread, and the future looks even dimmer. I was a Nasdaq market maker back in the day, and like 95% of us, we ended up...

Sierra Charts trade from the screen?

quick question regarding trendline alerts. Can I draw a trendline (and alert) on a chart that currently isnt the active one on my chart window, or do I need to create for examples, 20 sub charts (1 for each symbol) and have them running in the background, in order to have the trendline alert...

Where did the "90% are losers myth come from?

excellent points.. I think alot of this game is learned over time. People (who manage to stick around) learn that it isnt how can I make money, its how do I not LOSE money.. And gradually, you learn what NOT to do, and slowly develop a system that works for you. Papertrade, do a simulator (I...

Where did the "90% are losers myth come from?

I agree. I usually dont get into it either, its just a reoccuring theme you see here again and again. And I agree that most lose. Personally I think most of the losses are: 1) not being able to support themselves due to profits not occuring as fast as possible, therefore they quit...

Where did the "90% are losers myth come from?

I think this is somewhat true, but usually overstated.. There seems to be this "If your on the opposite side of my trade, either you win or I win." THis is false. Both could be winners all depending on the style and timeframe of the trades being taken.. Its not always I win-you lose..

From CEO to pizza delivery driver

I also thought this... This story is smack in the middle of the MSN homepage, so its obviously going to get alot of exposure.. Assuming he didnt burn bridges with his previous buyside accounts, it shouldnt be hard to get a job.. Some firms in fact might reach out to the guy..

From CEO to pizza delivery driver

Wrong. By all accounts he already had a "good life." In this case, "real risk" = real poor contingency planning. If you equate what he did with "having alot of balls" or some other stupid cliche, you too, are an idiot...

From CEO to pizza delivery driver

Agreed. Only answer is ego.. Only way I would leave a job like that is if I had so much in the bank, assumming the worst, I still had a comfortable nest egg set aside.. I dont blame the guy for giving it a shot, I blame him for taking a huge risk, and not calculating the obvious "what...

From CEO to pizza delivery driver

While I dont blame the guy for taking a risk, using all of your own savings to do it is foolish.. Statistics show the failure for any new venture is high, especially trading related (as we all know.) HE should have lowered his risk by getting other peoples money to invest, so if things went...

Sales trading and trading real money are 2 totally unrelated skill sets. Not sure why he thought he could simply start a hedge fund after being a salestrader..

    Trillium Trading and career progression.

But getting some canned "strategy" thrown at you by these prop firms as proper training isnt going to get you any farther.. Now if they have a unique or comprehensive approach to training, then I take that back as far as this firm is concerned, but I doubt its any different from any of the...

Chicago Trading Company or DRW/Susquehanna for recent ivy grad?

If the two job openings/offers are for the same type position, I would honestly just go with the place you would like to live.. You stated its Chicago, so give it a shot (assumming thats the offer.) If you already have an offer from one, why not just take it? I am a bit confused, b/c...

Chicago Trading Company or DRW/Susquehanna for recent ivy grad?

Well, I know Susquehanna has a great name, to be honest I am not familiar with the other firm.. I know when the NASDAQ market maker division of my firm closed down, a few guys got jobs down there and seemed to really like it. I havent spoken to them, so I am not sure if they are even...
