But do those OSes support multithreading as well as a later version? Without that support, your dual cores aren't going to be used effectively.

    1st Job - Propritary Trader???

Take the job, if you're interested in trading. A risk manager will always be hovering nearby, more than likely via computer monitoring your trades (the "risk manager" may be a program). You will get to trade more if you show that you're successful.

Question Abt Interactive Brokers ' Hidden Order'

What a broker might do with a hidden order, if you want to buy 10: They will show one on the bid. When that gets filled, they will show another and so on. Your order goes to the exchange one contract at a time.

What makes day trading a resume killer?

The reason that daytraders may be considered crazy, is that most people are risk adverse. So, they think, "Why would anyone risk losing money every day, if they could just go to work and collect a check." However, many would like to daytrade successfully, so they may resent a failed daytrader...

    ES, trin and tick

I was watching ES, trin and tick today. It seemed that when there was a negative tick extreme there would be some buying, but then the buyers got slammed when the tick went positive, say over 250-750. Can anyone suggest any ES trading methods based on tick and trin? Is it different on a day...

    Brush Engineering BARF

"In another thread, I pointed out this obvious Bump and Run Formation. It is this formation that has been responsible for the majority of train wreck indexes such as the Tech Bubble/Crash of 2000 and the homebuilding stocks of 2004-2005 that came down in short order." It wasn't a chart that...

The charting problem with futures contracts

Use the SPX and add the daily premium to it. If you don't want to calculate the premium, you can find it at places like: http://www.programtrading.com/buysell.htm and http://www.indexarb.com I suppose that you'd subtract the SPX close from "fair value" to find the premium.

detection of a 2 point down trend touch line

What about a short ema (4 or 8), then linearize that curve (least squares? (it's been awhile)). I don't know whether that would give you more than two points.

detection of a 2 point down trend touch line

You have a trendline drawn there. How did you decide that that is the trendline? For any chart with more than two bars/candles there is more than one trendline that can be drawn. With more than two bars/candles, you are going to have to choose one of many potential trend lines. How do you do...

    Futures expiration and IB

Not so. The exchange designed some contracts to be deliverable but IB "doesn't allow" that. Why?

    Futures expiration and IB

It's odd that IB doesn't permit delivery. Makes me wonder whether I have a contract or just an entry on IB's books

    Globex Futures Order Book.

    Globex Futures Order Book.

Here is another link that indicates that the e-mini s&p 500 has LMMs: http://www.cme.com/files/PriceBanding.pdf Yes, everything is FIFO, but some participants can jump to the front of the queue -- their order will be filled before everyone elses. If you're at the front of the queue --...
