    Bogus data?

Here is some data from this evening's session, right after connecting via the API. It appears there may be two "problems": 1. A volume increase without a "last size" event. 2. A volume increase with two "last size" events, one of which should be ignored, if the "volume" event is accurate...

    Bearish on the Market-SPX Target=1150

How do you know the time to buy? Tomorrow's sale may be better than today's!

Frosty's trading bot goes live part 2

I'm speculating that the problem here is bar/candle trading. That may work when there isn't any volatility, but as the volatility goes up, waiting for a bar to form (end of period) before making a decision can be expensive.

    Bogus data?

Thanks for that information. I registered there. In spite of the problems, I hope to mine the data I am collecting. Am working with gnuplot -- heard of it in Bollinger's book -- which has a finance.dem script from Bollinger himself!

    OCA and IB booktrader

I think you have to "manually" close the trade by adjusting the lmt-tgt order, then hit transmit. That should get the stop to cancel when your lmt-tgt order is filled.

    OCA and IB booktrader

How about a bracket order? If you close the position with the non-stop side, then the stop order will be cancelled, because the stop and non-stop orders are parts of a OCA.

Frosty's trading bot goes live part 2

I just realized how everything could go very wrong. Is it bar/candle trading? Waiting for a bar/candle to complete before making a decision? 5 minute bars/candles? On fed day, look at a 5-min chart. There is more than one 5 min bar where, even if you were in a trend and on the right side...

    Bogus data?

Figured out what to do: I'll watch the IB matrix when the market is slow, take notes, then compare with the data captured from the API. I can tell what is happening on the matrix, when it is slow, so I should be able to figure out what the sequence is in the API data by comparing with my...

Whoops! Lowest price 1504.50. Data still questionable.

    Bogus data?

Here is some data collected today as the ES went to 1505.25 for the last time, then began going up. It was captured from IB's data feed, and it is a sequence of price and size events. This is the order in which they occurred. Does anyone know why: 1. "last size" occurs twice 2...

Frosty's trading bot goes live part 2

It does trend following? Intraday trends can be short lived. If you'd post the entry times and direction, people might get some insight into how it finds trends and might be able to suggest improvements.

I only mentioned about paying it forward, because Jack is always bragging about paying it forward. Just want to see whether he follows through!

    The Characterology of NQ Traders

I'd like to hear about NQ traders' psychology. There might be some insight about joining their herd or fading them. Things to think about, anyway.

Am going to sleep now. Good night. Will post in the morning. Have put the sells (10 each) at 1499.75, 1500.00, etc. Hope for the best, that's what gramps always said.
