Lumber is starting to look interesting

Hard to find analysis about it. Might be a good short at 480, stop at 520, and take profit at 400. Will see.

What's your view on natural gas long term?

I heard that some platforms or brokers were messing up during the oil crash. Good to have that covered just incase. You think it'll go negative?

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Oh. So you're a day trader. That's cool. I tried doing day trading about 10 years ago but wasn't successful. Now I'm doing mostly swing trades or long term trades. Some problems I have with day trading is that it's very fast pace and you have to make split second decisions. I'm more of a...

Lumber is starting to look interesting

Looking at the lumber long term chart, seems to be heading for major resistance at 480: https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=CME%3ALBS1! Anybody experienced in this contract? Thinking about shorting it around there for a long term trade, maybe few months to a year.

What's your view on natural gas long term?

Are you referring to the Rice University material? Didn't find much from that search result. Saw a chart that seemed to show US Nat Gas Contracts less volatile than Crude or Other Nat Gas Contract. Saw a Rice University news saying effect on price from pandemic for nat gas should be short...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Is that saying that crude oil prices tends to be higher in the summer and lower around winter? What's your position on the brent crude price? You think we might see a momentary down move? I've been thinking maybe if it closes below 39 to reverse or close out my long position and try to buy it...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

If brent prices come down I see it having strong support at 36. This might actually happen given the weakness I see in the S&P chart. S&P and brent have been following each other closely, and yesterday S&P closed below a significant area, though brent did not do this on its chart, but it might...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Managed to roll over my Brent contracts yesterday to the next month. Made 2 cents "profit" or credit on the roll over with a limit sell order. I wonder how often that is possible to do? If I'm in a long term position maybe I should have this type of limit sell orders going back and forth...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

I'm in it for very long term, so if prices go down I'm staying in. Should have the capital to cover some moves to the downside, but if it goes down very much again I may have to trim my position. Hoping for a decent move in the next year or so. War is also a significant possibility. Seems...

What's your view on natural gas long term?

At very low levels historically. Long term monthly chart looks very good. Did a little research on it last night, is predicted to be more used in the future, overtake coal, so has staying power, not going away. Good time to start getting in? Am worried it might go negative. Seems like a...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

On the brent contract I'm not shorting. Time frame I"m looking at is daily chart.

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

The price to roll over was cheaper some days ago when the market was up, I think backwardation. Now it costs more to roll over. My broker has a 3 days before the final trade day requirement to roll over, but they said since this is cash settled I can roll over the last day. They also had an...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Also, if I go with say October, and there is a major war that brings oil prices up, are the later months like October going to be as affected by that news?

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Can you elaborate more about what those risks are?

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Rolling every other month would mean to go with the October contract now, right? Your concern seems to be another crash in oil if I understand. But going with October contract has some disadvantages too, correct? Yes, USO was a terrible experience. Lost a lot of profit because of being in...

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

I think I'll just roll it over to the next month. I guess that is how it's normally done. How long before the last trading day do people typically wait to roll over?

How do you trade Brent oil futures longterm?

Here is what it looked like a few minutes ago. I'm currently in the August but must roll over soon. October is lower, backwardation? September is higher. Not sure what to do. I think someone mentioned options but am not comfortable with that right now.
