Lumber is starting to look interesting

I though some people earlier in the thread mentioned that they had placed some trades. Anyways, I'd rather not mess with it. Thanks for the input.

Lumber is starting to look interesting

So is there no point in discussing lumber as a retail trader, since from what you say it sounds like you should not trade it at all.

Lumber is starting to look interesting

What do you mean there's no meaning support and resistance? Because of the low liquidity, or the chart? What could go wrong if someone buys or sells one of those futures contracts?

What's the future of Crude (Brent)?

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/The-Oil-Bulls-Betting-On-150-Crude.html News story about divided camp between those that say $100 or more and those that say it'll likely not get near those level. JP Morgan vs. Citi. One question seems to be if the oil industry took a business hit during...

Lumber is starting to look interesting

Lumber had an extremely bullish day Friday. Didn't even flinch at the resistance area and went up maybe 14% at one point. I think maybe some shorts got squeezed. Then Saturday morning when Google was playing news stories for me I was surprised one of them was about lumber, an interview with a...

What's the future of Crude (Brent)?

Thanks for the input. Maybe you're right. These are just speculations, not many people if any really know what exactly will happen. But I'm not confident enough that we'll see those low numbers again, but am more confident that eventually, later if not sooner, it'll reach significantly higher...

What's the future of Crude (Brent)?

Ok, so we're in the general area.

What's the future of Crude (Brent)?

I don't know. You're more the pro. What's your opinion? Personally I'm surprised it's so high, not very far from record highs. We're in the middle of a pandemic, major economic issues, doesn't make sense. Just demand for stocks I guess. Seems very strong for what it is. But SPY and oil...

What's the future of Crude (Brent)?

Crude back in the 20's seems far fetched. Wasn't it shutdown when it reached those levels? Also there was the Saudi Russia issue at the time. I believe the lowest Brent went was about 16, even when WTI was negative (is that right? that's what my chart is showing for Brent front month, please...

What's your view on natural gas long term?

If price breaks down there might be resistance and reversal around 200 moving average 2 hrs chart. Has been obeying that recently:

What's your view on natural gas long term?

It was in the positive this morning before the natural gas economic report, then it started heading down. Might very well go down further from here.

Lumber is starting to look interesting

Here's an interesting video about lumber that came out recently from the Uneducated Economist. Still sounds bullish according to his estimate if I understand correctly:

What's your view on natural gas long term?

2.0 seems to be also a 200 moving average area, which I believe tends to be resistance or support. You can see above is both EMA and SMA 200 moving average. Tomorrow we have natural gas economic numbers, so will see, maybe something will happen near there and we'll get a bounce back from it...

Lumber is starting to look interesting

Here we are, looks like we're at long term resistance level going back to the 90's. Too scared to short it though, have a bad feeling. Also would have to put a stop loss on it which I don't like to do. Contract size for lumber is heavy as well.

What's the future of Crude (Brent)?

I've been getting long crude since Mid April. Got stuck in the USO, then switched to brent and only recently recovered my losses. Class action and government investigations against USO are ongoing last I heard, but not sure I'll recover much if anything. Still long brent futures. Still looks...

What's your view on natural gas long term?

I think we're looking at different charts. My chart shows multiple bounces off 2.0 from below since Feb, while yours is above 2.0 until May. Here's what I've been looking at:

Lumber is starting to look interesting

Lumber is getting closer to the 480 area which I think is a significant resistance area. Was planning on shorting there but now having second thoughts about shorting it.

What's your view on natural gas long term?

It's been going strong recently. I got one contract yesterday at the open, but wonder if it'll be some pullback if it reaches 2. Thinking about reversing my position there for a quick pullback.

    Stop Losses are killing me

Sounds very true. I like how you have things quantified so well. Makes a lot of sense. Has been very helpful. Thanks.
