    Trader P/L 2005

Pretty happy with today. If you asked me at 1pm how my day was going i would have huffed and puffed, but its amazing how 1 good hour or 10 good minutes can turn your day around when you keep your head in the game. New computer too if your keeping track of why its blue not silver today.

    NYSE-ARCA Merger

I dont believe that i am a 'naysayer' that is predicting the end of trading, because obviuosly im way too new to say anything profound like that, but i dont see anything wrong with expecting certain underlying pricinples of market parameters to be held up during this merger. I maintain...

    NYSE-ARCA Merger

I read the actual pdf version (much easier to read) and have a couple thoughts. Isnt order parity totally unfair? Does any other market operate not on a first come first serve time based priority? So what if the first order is priority filled, what if its 100 shares and the next fill is...

    Rebate Trading - Ticket prices

What company do you know of that offers well under .002 that makes this possible? With SEC, gross losses, and other fees, i dont see how per share is possible. I was always under the impression cheap per ticket is the only way to go.

    Trader P/L 2005

Very slow and annoying day. Bad case of murphy's law all day as i had no shares and traded poorly during oppourtunity, and had lots of shares swinging for the fences when there was nothing doing.....

    Three monitor setup

I think this question is a bit different than the ones i have read so i made a new thread. I read that if you have a 2 port AGP video card (which i have) then you can install a single port PCI and have 3 monitors. My question is, as i already have a 2 port AGP, can i just plug a third...

Pretty good day. There was tons out there i didnt trade particularly well today, but the sheer volume of good action made me money. Check out that SEC fee... i thought that was going down wtf!

    19 and counting...

I think the choices generally are: 1. Put up 5k and try you hand at a prop shop. 2. Start with 100 share lots with a retail broker like tradestation ($1 for 100 share orders). 3. get at least an undergrad business degree from a high ranking business school and try to get a paid trading job

    bright vs. echo

Depends what he means by gross p/l. With my style of trading i gross 20-30k a month easy, but with fees and payout i only see about 25% of that money in my actual pocket. And that is on 750k bp.

    Canadian Securities?

I took the csc about 2 years ago. Its pointless in my opinion unless you are looking for a job at a bank or investment company. I think it helped a lot getting a job at a bank for myself, but now that i work as a trader its totally pointless. It cost about 500 or 600 or something then...
