Do high win % ratio trades require invert risk/reward?

Hi, Most traders like to look for positive risk/reward (actually reward/risk right?) Meaning for every $1 risk you make $2, $3 whatever.. My question is on winning system say 80%+ winners do they risk twice as much as they win (actual expectancy would still be positive) to give the trade...

my reason for wanting to short goog is becuase it gapped up this AM and sold off, then in the PM was unable to breakout, this means there is someone with size or without time that is trying to get out IMHO Risk/Reward is good too

    empee's blow-out journal

I primarily swing trade so this is not a scalper journal btw. This is primarily because I'm not around and I think scalping is a waste of time in low volatility environments. I may have no position for weeks/months if there is no trend (which is common)

    empee's blow-out journal

Oil moved in direction giving me some additional firepower. Have a buy stop in 6eu6 (EUR/USD) at 1.2608 for 2 contracts long (looking to fade it if they run the stops there) Also looking to put on a GOOG put spread at the open or in the first 15mins, but I prob wont be around. If I get it...

    empee's blow-out journal

The first trade of this account was posted in another thread on ET. I plunged and sold 7 August QM (Crude Oil) at 72.45 with an initial stop of 72.775. Stop is now at breakeven. I plunged because I thought there is a longer-term trend reversal here, and failure crude to follow-thru/breakout...

    empee's blow-out journal

Hi, I have a small account with $18k in it so I decided to trade it aggressively because I'm bored. This is NOT my main account so I decided to try trading it aggressively. The basic problem with this approach is because I will be plunging I face two major challenges: 1) Do I get...

    Permanent Yield Curve Inversion

Remember, when ppl buy the long bonds they are removing liquidity, so attempts by the fed to inject liquiduity are offset by the long bond purchases to be neutral.

    Shorted OIL

Hi, I shorted August Oil at 72.45 this AM, the July contracts broke 71.50. I'm looking for a big move down (meaning a change in trend) potentially testing $50/barrel over the coming months (of course I will roll over if needed) My stop on August is at breakeven. Lets see what happens; I'm...

    Permanent Yield Curve Inversion

Hi, Since FED controls liquidity and short-term interest rates, and since the FED has created excess liquidity -> overvaluation -> misallocation of capital. Because of this, actual producers can't get a reasonable payback by investing their capital (read actual producers looking for a...

Best broker for flat rate trades

Hi, I am an IB customer but my avg shares are now great enough that I am investigating switching to a broker like Scottrade that offers $7 commissions since it would be significantly less than IB with their .005 pricing. I am a swing trader so order execution is important but not paramount...
