1%\day average trading USD/CAD over the next year.

I decided to make my $ starting point a little higher. Oanda has my maximum loss tolerance set at 10K. Since I've lost a little over 2K already this year, they would not let me deposit more than I just did. So, below is the new starting point. This means that since I've promised 1%/trading...

1%\day average trading USD/CAD over the next year.

Yes, but that's boring and defeats the purpose of day trading. Modest, long-term compounding gains are a part of my investment portfolio. Relying on compounding in a high risk trading account, is a disaster waiting to happen. Save that for your investments.

1%\day average trading USD/CAD over the next year.

I trade this pair because I have a much better understanding of US and Canadian economies at the macro level. I can more comfortably make some longer term calls on the direction of the currency pair, and select shorter term trades within that longer term trend. I am almost exclusively shorting...

1%\day average trading USD/CAD over the next year.

I decided to take the risk and stick my neck out. I'm going to add myself to the list of people who believe 1%\day average on a smallish account is very doable. 1) I'm not a beginner. I've been at this for a few years. 2) I'm far from broke, not living off my credit cards, and not dependent...

    trading stress and Erectile Dysfunction

You're obviously not the guy in the other thread complaining about erectile difficulties. Even a 95 year old should rise to the attention of a 28 year old. o_O

    trading stress and Erectile Dysfunction

I would wonder if it has less to do with stress and more to do with your eating and activity habits. As I sit here doing some trading from my laptop while tossing back a couple of pints of beer at the local pub, I recognize a potential bad habit developing. Yes, it relaxes me and actually...

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

True, Pekelo, but perhaps one needs to realize that in trading, real success isn't achieved if you're only shooting for a marginal return. After all, that's simply a good year for an "investor". I suspect the smart successful traders shoot for the 250%, achieve it for a while, and then walk...

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

Years ago when I tried and failed at a prop firm, passing their initial training period required an average of 1%/day over a period of one month. This was with starting capital of $10K. Passing the test required that you earn $2000 in one month. Perhaps, I am wrong, but about 1%/day, seems to...

Trump says stock market is all a big bubble....

So what. "households" account for only one third of total holding in US equities.

Trump says stock market is all a big bubble....

I question the whole idea of bubbles at this stage. The US markets have been treading water for over a year now, with a couple of significant corrections. There is still lots of room for upside. But, alas, you bears will always be looking for an excuse to call the top.

Turning $15K credit card debt into financial freedom

36% interest on a credit card??! Wow, between 10% and 19.99% in my part of the world. My turn. Going to max out my credit cards (average 16%) 50.4K and line of credit (3.7%) 40K, and trade forex. :D:strong:

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

Yes, and that is the purpose of debt. So long as you can average a return that exceeds the cost of your debt, a cost that may be tax deductible, you are ahead. BUUUUT, Be careful. If you lose the money to your trading, you're going to get bitten at both ends. Not only will you still owe the...

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

In my experience, the biggest "gobshite" is the one who comes onto an online forum and boasts about his supposed "millions". You talk big like a "dude", dude! That's why you're being called a dude.

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

Thanks, but no, I disagree with you. Debt used unwisely is indeed for suckers, otherwise it is greatly to your benefit. For example, why would would I pay off my car loan at 0.49%, when I can take that 21K and invest it? Why would I pay off the RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings plan) line...

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

Perhaps, however that IS the function of credit. You don't trade with it; you use it to flatten out the unreliable income curve that occurs with trading. Instead of withdrawing from your trading account for living expenses, you withdraw from your credit cards and line of credit. When you get...

    How Realistic? $50k account, $500 / day

Why not? I seem to be able to manage a very consistent return. 1%, ON AVERAGE, per day is actually very easy with forex. Compounding 1%? Forget it, don't even try.
