Goldman Sachs Vice President Charged With Insider Trading

Indeed. I suspect that in this case Mr Jung was ratted out to the SEC by someone at Goldman Sachs as some sort of sacrifice / reward for not going after the real dirt and yet still be able to keep the illusion of diligence / fairness intact (at least for the vast unsuspecting public). Hard to...

    $TSLA

TSLA failed to get even a 5% jump on the news. A far cry from the days when TSLA would jump 5% or more on bad news, eh? The way things are going, TSLA is more likely to hit $60 instead of $600 over the next year.

Goldman Sachs Vice President Charged With Insider Trading

I will bet there are far bigger fishes to fry at Goldman Sachs (and JP Morgan, Bank of America, etc), but I will also bet that the SEC will never touch any of them. Amazing how the SEC is spending limited resources on 6 digit matters while letting 8-12 digit matters go.

    $TSLA

Darn, now that you've mentioned it, I'm asking myself if I should break the rule on position size and chase this thing up with those calls. It looks like TSLA might get close to $300 later today or tomorrow. Perhaps for day trade only, since current week options suffers fast time decay. $295...

That might be enough to push TSLA up 5% or more today.

Thanks for the reply. TSLA is bouncing up again. Let's see how long and high this one gets.

    Iron Condor on TSLA

Would you elaborate on the evidence of Elon Musk's attempt to buy a few million shares? Also, what makes you think there is a sell wall at 310, and a buy wall at 275? Thanks a lot.

    Recommend a book

I'm afraid that's not exactly how things work after years and years of my observation and reading. Those who have the power to move the markets, set foreign policies, and start conflicts around the world also happen to own or have the power to influence all the mainstream media outlets. The...

Abrupt turn at the open. Day low $273.43 Some institutions starting to ease out? The CR findings about Model 3 controls are as expected. The single screen for controls represent a major single point of failure. Tesla is so lucky that CR hasn't yet assembled a test suite for battery fire...

Trump may get his wall after all

So how is Trump going to spin Tennessee crowd funding into "paid for by Mexico"?? By ceding Tennessee to Mexico? Anyway, doubt that funds from Tennessee are going to be enough for building a wall of more than 8 inches in height.

    $TSLA

Are you saying that TSLA is going to hit $500 soon? Or that you are going to hold on to your shares until the price is up to that level? Bizarre claim, blatantly false, and irrelevant to trading / investing.

    Royal Wedding

Not that I'm aware of, though King Edward had allegedly been on friendly terms with Hitler. The objection to the affair / engagement was that Simpson's ex-husband was still alive. The Church of England, of which the British Crown was the head, rejected the remarriage of a divorced person whose...

    Royal Wedding

British Royals seem to have a passion for American divorcees. Meghan is the 2nd American to marry a British Royal, and luckily has not caused any uproar. King Edward abdicated his throne in 1936 in order to marry Ms. Wallis W. Simpson, an American divorcee. That's how controversial their love...

    $SRPT - Sarepta Therapeutics

Thanks for sharing. The stock has had an incredibly amazing run. A near 300% jump from Jan. 2017. I think most posters here are traders, not investors, but SRPT seems like an excellent stock for trading.

i have one question for the options theoreticians here at et about the value of options.

Good to know. Would you say Tesla's May 2-4 price movement was a rare phenomenon? TSLA closed at $301 on May 2 (EA after close), dropped to a low of $276 on May 3, and closed at $294 on May 4 (expiry). So naked straddle sellers received premiums priced for a big move on both calls and puts...

i have one question for the options theoreticians here at et about the value of options.

I believe you are right, especially with TSLA. Selling TSLA straddle (at $300) before the last earnings announcement would have netted the seller huge profits in 3 days, probably better than a correct directional bet. The inflation of premiums didn't seem to be symmetrical -- the put side was...

    Is Stock Worth Anything ?

Might be worthwhile to collect some well-preserved rare certs at low prices. Gold and Silver coins (genuine, important!) are worth considering IMHO. Anything but the Federal Reserve notes.
