    Net&yahoo dumped for dinner...

OK, thanks. I was just curious. Trying to follow along with the conversation; it wasn't clear to me whether you were representing the US or Israel. I don't represent anyone myself.

    Net&yahoo dumped for dinner...

Sorry, I perhaps wrongly assumed English was your first language. It's quite simple though. Let me try again. You said: I'll repeat part of your quote: "what do you want us to do about it now?" Do you see the bit I have put in bold above? The word: "us" It's a pronoun. Here's a...

How to tell if it options were bought instead of sold

If you're trading options, try to understand synthetics first. For your example, read about "conversions" and "reversals".

How to tell if it options were bought instead of sold

Can you back that statement up with evidence please. What if they buy stock and puts?

    How could the S&P 500 settlement be 1172.95 ?

This is far from unusual. You are rewarded for the settlement risk in SPX options by the premium. If you don't like it, don't trade it.

Mom0/pH0x banned, all posts purged to protect a troll.

That's simply not true. I'm not sure you can really speak on behalf of "everyone" else. I saw nothing but childish behavior from Mom0/pH0x whose modus operandi seemed to be dominated by ad hominen attacks against anyone who disagreed with him. I have to assume he/she is just a teenager. His...

The Petraeus Briefing: Biden's Embarrassment Is Not The Whole Story

Didn't I hear that grass roots trade unions in the UK were planning on boycotting Israeli products? http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=155395 In any case, I'm not sure Israel can count on the UK as an ally for much longer. The tide has turned. Comparisons with South African...

The GooBot: Diary A DIY Trading Platform

If you're not married to Subversion, suggest you have a look at Git which is a distributed version control system with some advantages over Subversion. If using Git, you can host a public repository for free up at GitHub. For bug tracking, if it is an open-source project, there is the good...

    Ruby programming

Ruby is great. I use it mainly for web applications based on the Rails framework. I deploy to Heroku. Since Heroku understands Git and Rails it's as simple as: git push heroku and Heroku will detect that a Rails app is being pushed up and deploy it accordingly. The closest analogue of...

    GOOG 99.9% sure leaving China

It's not just eyeballs. Some of those services are free to start with but if your business and needs grow, you will have to pay to support the extra features and capacity. Once you are hooked on/invested in the service it becomes more likely that you will pay for the service once your...

    GOOG 99.9% sure leaving China

I personally view Google as a potentially very dangerous entity which is why I don't use most of those afore mentioned services. Enough other people though are not so worried about those privacy issues that they continue to sign-up.

    GOOG 99.9% sure leaving China

I think you underestimate Googles breadth of services. It is not just search. Google Apps: Google Documents, Google Calendar etc. Google AppEngine, Google Android, Google Checkout, Google Reader, Google Books..... A lot of these services are only now starting to gain momentum but it is the...

    brokers that support OpenQuant

Yes, good point. The broker adapters are relatively straightforward to code depending on your broker's API and programming capability. A lot of the code can be lifted from the examples provided.

    brokers that support OpenQuant

http://www.openquant.com/site/openquant.php Lists the brokers and feeds that OpenQuant supports. That list might be out of date (it includes OpenTick which is now defunct) so you're best off calling or e-mailing OpenQuant to confirm who their software can work with.
