Like Spectre2007 said, I would add"TRANSFER" of wealth occurs. Would love to hear some thoughts on what sectors/products/etc are getting too hammered below fair value. We have a serious opportunity at the end of all this to swoop in and go long various markets etc. Thoughts anyone???

    Reuters: Major Hedge Fund collapsed

Liquidation at hand, and I don't think we've even seen the real start of it - there is a potential for momentum to cause a snowballing effect worse than this.

It ain't ET doin' all the sellin' :p :p :p Of COURSE its hedge funds, as well as any and all money management firms that are unwinding - they control all of the assets, duh. And there will be implosions a plenty. Song playing "Let the bodies hit the floor", and think of that scene in "V...

    Money Market Funds Losing Money???

How does that old saying go....... "Better to be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt" Sumpin' like that:p Seriously, if you don't even know what a mutual fund is and how it operates, why are you even worried about it?

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

I've been wondering this myself. The market has moved explosively in one sustained move for an outlier amount many times in the past - the Fed made unexpected rate hikes or cuts in the middle of the trading day. It literally ends trading careers and bankrupts people. What are we missing...

As a general observation, it seems to be a trend (no pun intended!) in the ES journal that great contributors like Spectre2007 eventually get put off by the WAY people make comments or question about their prior input. And no Pekelo, I'm not referring to your question here, I just think this is...

Risk Management at Bear Stearns Asset Management

My favorite line from the WCM is the classic: "WCM Firm X neither admits nor denies any wrongdoing in the matter." And then pays off the government, the regulators, the authorities, and everyone else necessary to the tune of hundreds of millions in fines - payola to get them out of the...
