Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Ok, thanks AMP for the update and thanks for helping me get this particular transfer sorted. Noted for next time to use the international SWIFT method though it costs about $30 in bank charges per wire for us and we have to go into a branch to do it since it isn't enabled by default via...

So, 48 hours have passed since the wire transfer to the GBP account and funds have not been credited to my AMP account. Have dropped AMP an email asking them if they can assist.

Thanks AMP, so will give the local correspondent bank some more time to process the transfer.

Just an update - I finally tried the domestic wire transfer (BACS) yesterday. So far it has not been credited to my AMP account. I have dropped AMP an email to see if they can see anything.

Hi, For my last transaction I sent it international SWIFT to the AMP account in Chicago. For my next transfer I will be sending it via BACS to sort-code 600004 and account # 10013067 but I've not tried that yet.

Credited same-day - bank had spooked us, AMP were right and we have a solution for future domestic wire deposits. Pays to work with a broker :) Thank you AMP.

Thanks AMP, now I see it. For next time we'll try a BACS to the Beneficiary's IBAN.

Thanks AMP, what's changed? It looks like international wire direct to your US account is now shown as the only option. Here's what I see (checked in FireFox and Safari):

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Hi AMP, my business partner made the transaction at our local HSBC branch approximately an hour ago and that's what he was told. I don't have anything that I can forward to you - if it takes same or next business day we'll be pretty happy but the bank clerk didn't set high expectations.

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

We just did an international payment from our account in the UK to AMP's in Chicago. The cost isn't the kicker - its the 4-6 day wait that is most unacceptable. I am glad AMP are looking into this because the hassle (having to actually queue in a bank and get them to fill out the paperwork)...

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Hi AMP, Thank you for looking into this. For the avoidance of doubt, we have been told by 2 UK banks (RBS - who hold the account for BMO Harris and HSBC) that it is only possible to enter a maximum of an 18-character 'reference' on domestic wire transfers (known as BACS transfers here in the...

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Well I'd prefer not to leave them and will try to see if they have any plans to facilitate simpler (at least to how it was before the change to BMO Harris) wire deposits for their non-US clients.

I still have my IB account and could fall back to them - I like AMP since I get MultiCharts.NET included along with decent data (IB's data feed is not particularly great for futures trading) and pretty nice day-trading margins which means we can keep less capital in our brokerage account. The...

Should I change my broker so I can get Kenetick?

That note was really helpful and allowed us to avoid a significant problem so thank you! I don't know of any other brokerage that brought this to customers' attention so fast.

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Hi, Been a happy client of AMP for several weeks now. Recently they updated their funding instructions so that they work through a new bank - BMO Harris - for making account deposits: http://www.ampclearing.com/funding_instructions.html We're based in the UK and before this change we were...

Should I change my broker so I can get Kenetick?

That's a fairly unhelpful remark for those who are adjusted to trading tick charts. Volume bars have their pros and cons just like every other chart type so suggesting people switch to something else doesn't really help. In any case, I'm facing the same issue (and an unrelated one that's...

    Trading algorithm stopped working(?)

Good luck with everything - you were smart enough to create a winning strategy for a while which is more than what most can achieve. Take a break, enjoy life and come back to it with fresh eyes - you might find a new edge :)

    Trading algorithm stopped working(?)

Have you tried comparing your strategies on other futures instruments / different timeframes and using different chart resolutions? You may find that performance has improved on another instrument and maybe you can 'hedge' by running the strategy on an instrument that is responsive to your...

Need an alternative to CQG (Amp/Multicharts.NET)

Thanks James, I will check this out - any way you could persuade Multicharts.NET to offer your feed as an option in their 'Special Edition' version? Otherwise I have to pay for an MC license in addition to the cost of your feed.

Need an alternative to CQG (Amp/Multicharts.NET)

I hear ya JP but I regard AMP as a 'no frills' broker - cheap prices for a reliable service and in fairness to them their service as a broker to me has been reliable (actually excellent).
