the trend is up, market has bottomed.

I figured out this thing once having to do with options and shit. And then I read about these guys named Black and Scholes who I think copied my ideas. Assholes. I do all the other theories, but also Swahili Theories. I find then very useful for when a gap down doesnt fade, on a Fed...

    The Squawk Box

What exactly do most of you listen for on the squawk? I mean, the bid by offer is good to know, but hard to listen to all day, especially with a futures time and sales right in front. I find myself slipping and just listening to pit noise, paper orders and the funny shit that he says.

Is 'Positive Mental Attitude' motivation good for a trader?

Keep your emotional highs low, and you lows high if that makes any sense..... Generally dont get too high or too low, try to stay unemotional, unbiased, and objective. And trading while the other kind of high will only lead to red!

Trading only career that doesn't require people?

Thunder, Yeah, you are exactly right as well. I just wanted to discern between the interactions that us Day traders make (minimal verbal) and that of institutional traders (even the complex hand signals). Thats part of the reason I am a trader... not having to deal with the communicative...

Trading only career that doesn't require people?

Not only that, but MM's (especially futures arb.) often call eachother after close to 'even out'overnight positions, all the while trying to protect their proprietary positions, clients and client orders. Read Nick Leeson's book for a good insight about MM psychology and deception among each other.

Trading only career that doesn't require people?

Consider the futures or other pit trader in an open outcry market. His job constantly entail convincing other market makers that he is long when he is short, or that he's arbing when its really a client order. Things are different for us day traders, but in a 'real' market (real since...

    Misc. Fees at Prop firms?

The potential of earning income through ECN rebates is phenomenal. I have known a number of traders that actually trade much better when bidding and offering. It prevents them from getting retail happy, and overtrading . On bog moves it still is important to have good retailling skills. But the...

the trend is up, market has bottomed.

Prediction is the wrong word. Ones level of conviction would have to be too high in each trade to justify the usage of the word prediction. So rarely are things set up such that a trader's level of conviction are this high.

    Building a new tower ???

Alright, its unfair to discount apple as you have. I am a PC user, and currently have an Athlon 4 1.4 gHz, and it just screams, and I love it. BUT, Apples are great for what they do best. First of all, windows is a very unstable OS compared to OS 10, and this is coming from a Windows user!!! Why...

the trend is up, market has bottomed.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) - Battered Nasdaq stocks still face the dreadful prospect of panic selling, as measured by the percentage of down volume recorded at the market's close, says a noted technical analyst. Stocks on the New York Stock Exchange also have ahead of them the furious selling...

Just FYI, I do understand Lavish has a rather weak grasp on common English vocabulary as was demonstrated by his difficulty with Darkhorse's rather straightforward (although eloquent) comment. Just thought I would justify the bluntness of my previous comment directed towards him ---...

    Building a new tower ???

Honestly, dont buy a Pentium......its a good chip, but is way overpriced due to Intels name....P4 is largeyl a marketing gimmick. Go with the AMD Athlon 4....its faster, cheaper and more stable than a Pentium. An Athlon 4 at 1.4 gHz runs as fast or as faster as a Pentium 4 at 1.8 gHz. BTW...

Inca has a better rebate, thats why, and also because Island shaves often get rathe r ridiculous....although ISLD is a much better ECN than many. Arca offers no rebate and is slow as hell.
