Yes ... latency is real important. Direct hookup to exchange gateway gives you minimal latency. The only people with less lat. are sitting at exchange screens. Broker data broadcast servers links to exchange give the other component to latency. Amusing to see people buying into retail...

Who ... Subscribe to the ARCA data feed. Its only 10$/mo. That may be the problem regarding FAS/FAZ.

If you put your symbols on a TWS ticker page then do you still experience the slowness??? i run qqqq, spy, and dia on a TWS ticker pg and data seems to come in and display pretty fast - nothing like you discribe.

i assume by QT you mean Quote Tracker, right ?? i use IB and QT for indexes, YM, ES, and less than 10 stocks. No options or other futs. i dont have the problem you mention. If you are talking abt T/S, i use QT and no problem there. Try to give more info so others can help.

Maybe Hoi is talking about UDP protocal ??? It doesnt have the overhead compared to TCP - faster with less than half the overhd in bytes of TCP. Just server to client(TWS) - nothing else.

Thnx for the update, Dst. i havent seen any problems with YM data in past several days. If IB hasnt finished with the fix, then im wondering why the YM data has stayed "clean" . I guess im still a bit(Pun) suspicious that the YM problem originated some where at or between the matching...

Guys, get PingPlotter. its free, quick install, tiny footprint, will quickly show your route graphically and latencey. If there is a problem with a switch in the route, it will show instantly.

Market data for YM to BookTrader has been showing properly for AH and RTH....and on ZLT.

Auto Shut Off ??? I had zero problems here. Ran TWS all dayand evening Monday.

Same problem last night with YM market depth. i have pics if IB needs them as well.

Ok, thnx Jeb. i remember going over that doc because my angst coefficient was rising regarding my YM trading being affected by the changes. There's a tiny chance that something is also amiss at the matching engine host or comm line linked to IB. Anyway i just would like to hear more from IB...

Not always. Most often im in a trade and price is moving around fast(YM). i can close BK and ZLT but it may only correct for a couple of seconds ... it varies. Happens aftr hrs as well.
