Hidden stop loss and take profit

That doesn't make any sense at all. If you have a stop loss I have to assume that you are already in the trade. At that point you should take you loss, especially if it is going down. If you are not in the trade and waiting for a pullback to support of one kind or an other as your entry, then...

I told you guys...closing positions for a loss is for fools.

Right but you probably have a portfolio with a bunch of positions underwater that are tieing up your capital and preventing you from taking advantage of other opportunities. It's a great feeling to get up in the morning and see that the market is up 1% and you portfolio is down but you haven't...

Hidden stop loss and take profit

Not sure what you are suggesting here. Are you saying that the entry is mental and you wait until your stop is hit, then you buy? Or are you going to average down if your stop is hit? If it's a mental stop, how long do you wait until you close your position? How far do you let it run against...

Hidden stop loss and take profit

What is the difference? If your stop is at $10 and it trades at $9.99 does it make a difference whether it's a hard stop and gets filled right away or if it's a mental stop and you have to make a decision. At what point do you actually take your loss if it keeps dropping? Knowing of course that...

Take Will Rogers Advice; "Don't gamble; take all your savings and buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don't go up, don't buy it."

    The gutfeel swing trade

I'm curious as to why you would set a time limit on a swing trade? Or are you buying call options 6 months out and limiting your risk to the price of the options.

    President Biden's latest tax proposal

You really think so? The people who own the politicians control what happens. The party doesn't matter.

    President Biden's latest tax proposal

Tell them to send the full amount at the beginning of the year and be done with it. I know it's the princple of lending a spendthrift government money interest free, but you have to pay that amount anyway and you only have to do it once.

You gotta wonder why the price is rising. The price fo BTC is falling and the cost of mining is going to double overnight. Don't see too many profitable miners at todays cost.

Look on the bright side if you are making monthly payments you're profitable. :) One of the benifits of having tax free or tax deferred accounts.

I'm just trying to figure out if EW is a tool that I can make use of. No one seems to be able to explain how they use it. WXY is waiting for a retrace or a double retrace and then he'll average down on a losing position until who knows. And yes I like quick and easy. Not so much tell me what to...

Initial impression was lots of probable and probably. Not much discussion of EW. Not too different from what I'm doing now. Buy stocks that are going up. Sell when they stop going up. Don't hold losers in the portfolio. Been mostly selling this week :)

I have lots of time. The question is are you willing to spend the time to try and explain it? I think it was Peter Lynch that said you have to be able to explain it simply enough that a 5th grader can understand it and quick enough that a 5th grader won't get bored. I'll check out the videos...

    President Biden's latest tax proposal

Just to clarify, it's not a 50% or 67.5% tax. In Canada ther is no capital gains tax rate, it varies with your income. At present you are taxed on 50% of your cap gains. If you made a $100, $50 is considered income and you are taxed at your marginal rate. Now the $100 cap gain will be considered...

Care to share how you use it? So far what I've got from WXY is that from here the price might go up or it might go down. Depending on where it goes we can fit a wave to it.
