An interesting strategy. Do you have an equal position in each. What if it doesn't?When do you bail on BITI or are you going to average down? BITI didn't start to trade until June 2022, near the end of the last crypto winter. That is the beauty of using an ETF to play the short side, your loss...

Of course I have doubts. That was then, A missed oportunity for sure, one of many. What is it about past performance that the disclaimers all say?? I'll take what the market gives me but I'll control my risk. It'll be interesting to see when you get in. Did I miss your entry into BITI?

Like I've mentioned in the past I don't know how to value BTC so I don't really pay any attention to what is being said or projected. Nor am I sure who I would listen to anyway, if you look hard enough you can find someone who is either bullish or bearish. Whatever news, good or bad that is out...

That's interesting, if it gets to 50K that will be about a 30% drop from the high. The last time we had a 30% drop (Jan 2022) the boys started talk of a crypto winter.

Not completely; Probably monday depending on where it goes over the weekend. BTC has to make a new swing high (over67.3k) to convince me the down trend is done. One of the problems with using the ETFs is you have to sit out the weekends.

I don't know when the long run will be, so I trade what the market will give me. You believe that BTC has another wave down so while you are waiting I'm in the market employing my capital. A little bit here, a little bit there all adds up at the end of the year.

Why do you have to risk a lot of capital? I determine how much capital I risk. Of course I'm willing to take losses every now and then.

Great call. Too bad you didn't have the conviction to act on it. Another shoulda woulda coulda. Oportunity lost. I know you'll let us know when you take a position.

If you're a short term swing trader you don't want to hold thru earnings you bail just before the market closes. At least I do. :)

    Offshore formation for Canadians

Could happen. It's something I am concerned about as I'm getting up there and my main source of income is from trading. I suppose it's something they will be taking a closer look at as the amount of wealth in TFSA increases. The case you show has a couple things that are red flags that I don't...

I looked into it years ago and figured it wasn't worth it. You are depending on someone if an offshore jurisdiction to babysit your wealth with no recourse if they mess up or abscond with it. In Canada the registered plans (RRSP and TFSA) let you accumulate wealth tax defered or tax free. Of...
