    Hedge Fund TV Show

Longview, calm down man. All that's been said of Mr. Sykes is based on what's been published in the magazine and from this new TV show. It's not like we just made things up, at least not me. As for my view of him "living easy," well that was just from seeing him on the show. I got nuthin...

    Hedge Fund TV Show

Tim Sykes is that 25yr old guy that trades from his apartment in his "good luck robe." He's actually profiled in Trader Monthly in that "Traders under 30" issue. He was one of the lucky few that cashed out in 99-00 with like 1.65mil pretax. A lot of the public were in a position to do the...

    Principles

The FED has existed for 93 years now without hardly any resistance or legal inquiries from the public. Of course most people are stupid, this is nothing new.

    why does everyone knock CNBC?

What's so bad about it? You already answered your own question. It's not bad, just basically entertainment... unless they're reporting on real news events. But as for the making you money aspect of it, that's all BS. TRADERS JUST STARTING OUT COULD REDUCE THEIR PAINFUL LEARNING...

why trading your own $ for a living is so alien.....

Livermore's exact quote from his book Reminiscenses of a Stock Operator: "There isn't a man on Wall Street who has not lost money trying to make the market pay for an automobile or a bracelet or a motor boat or a painting."

How can I overcome this fear?

Successful trading is ironic. The way it SHOULD be is this: You have many more losing trades than winning ones. BUT... a few of the winning trades are huge enough to eat up all the previous small losses and much more. Anyone who says they consistently have more winning trades than...

I'm sick and tired of work! :)

If you didnt have a family to feed, your mindset would be more gung-ho about it. Naturally, the best time to take the biggest risks is when you're still young, single, healthy, no kids, and no one else to screw over but yourself if things dont' turn out right.

It seems market bottoms can be predicted

Market bottoms are easier to spot than tops. Spikes in the VIX/VXO make that obvious.

The Federal Reserve System - Purposes & Functions

This is not that complicated. It just requires common sense. Long before the constitution, there have been central banks in existence all over europe. The founding fathers weren't stupid, obviously they knew central banks having complete control over an economy using paper assets led to economic...

The Federal Reserve System - Purposes & Functions

Think a little deeper than a simple wikipedia fact sheeet. The constitution provides for CONGRESS to coin money, not a central bank. The back-door amendment process by which the FED was created in 1913 has always been questionable and shady. A central bank is what the constitution wanted to avoid.

If you want to be rich, first stop being so frightened

So what you're basically saying is that if you had a choice, you'd rather be poor and STAY poor? Talk about ambition. Homeless people don't have debt. As a matter of fact, they don't have anything. But I suppose they sure are happy.
