i am already trading futures , i am not talking about stocks ... as a scalper i look for small movements but again i do it many times a day , and there is no guarantee nothing will happen while i am in a trade ... Anyway this is hypothetical question only , i wanted to know if daytraders...

purchasing monthly options is expensive , i was looking at yearly options which is expensive also , for example ESZ11 1150 put will cost 54*size

u could scalp to earn slippage and spread from impatient traders ... , this is not our topic anyway , what could be the best protection for scalpers ?

If u r scalping , do u protect yourself from catastrophic events ? ie : If daytrading indices then trade shorts only , buy deep OTM puts , or u dont have any protection at all ?

Of course there is a situation where MB will have to pay for the limit order without getting paid from whom hit the order , ie : when your limit order got hit by their liquidity provider orders , at this point they pay u and MB dont get paid , here MB will lose money , but they look at the whole...

ofcourse , but then it is very crowded and u need infrastructure , your entry point cant be that accurate and u will miss many opportunities , and when u exit a losing trade it will be a market order believe me it is a rip off for retail traders like me , if i want to trade your way i will do...

The problem with ES scalping is the spread , u pay 0.25 plus 0.1 for commissions this is 0.35 point which is expensive compared to today's ATR ...

100k is too much for 1 contact , the notional value for the ES is around 60k $ only ...

what is your trading account/s size ? Please share ...

what about sugar Jul/13 it is at 17 cents , is it a good investment to buy into this backwardation for long term investing ?

regarding commission i find FDAX the cheapest , ES is very expensive ask-bid spread and commissions wise ...

I agree retail scalping is not the way to get rich , but i cant say it is impossible to be profitable maybe very difficult but not impossible . swing trading maybe it is easier than scalping but it is still difficult and u need a bigger pot to start with ...

Maybe u r right but i could say the same about swing trading ...
