The long one isn't a 10 bar, it is a 10 week, which is roughly a 50 bar moving average. One of the old standards. I believe he actually likes the 49 bar himself, but as mentioned, he says the exact number isn't what is important. I read this book fairly recently and I like the simplicity...
Any back testing or realtime numbers? It honestly doesn't look like it works any better than 100 others systems I've created that look better on charts than in the real world. On the other hand, it is great that you are sharing. I hope it is a winner. :)
Normal? Most traders go bust following advice, normal or otherwise (and not following it too I suppose). What's my point this time? Heck if I know. Just newbies should question any advice from anonymous donors.
My point was just that newbies shouldn't see a pretty saying and assume it is the key to becoming successful. For every trading related saying there is generally an equal and opposite saying that is just as correct.

Globex uses FIFO execution and is a single point of transaction (no multiple ECNs, etc.). There really isn't anyway to execute outside the market (unless you've figured out a way to hack Globex). If someone throws a "market" order out for more size than is on the best bid/ask, then it will...
He is playing the gap with twice the commissions? Why not just wait for the open and then make a single trade with the hope that the gap is going to fill?
svchost.exe by itself is normal and a part of Windows (see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056. There are, however, intances where constant high CPU usage by it can reflect the existance of a worm/virus. Google around a bit for more info.
You don't use it, but it is part of the methodology? That makes it sound like you either don't follow the method, or you don't follow the whole method (thus making a new and slimmer version of the method).
I'm a little confused, but what else is new. :)
