1000 QQQ SSF trading is better than NQ.

the 1k share QQQ is on NQLX. http://www.nqlx.com If the b/a spread ever gets to 1 penny, then *maybe* it will compete with NQ -- but it's currently 10 cents or more.

    The Surf Report

Hi surf, Quick question re: "STAY IN THE TRADE for 10 minutes, if the market surpasses the 10 minute high CLOSE. " Do you use the 3 minute candle method to determine "surpasses", or just close immediately if the high is violated after the 10 minutes? Thanks and keep up the postings! 3dog

    AllenZ's Journal

Allen, you're not boring -- thanks for sharing! :) re your post "...Moved down to 861 area, moved stop to breakeven and ended up stopping flat." At what point did you move to flat, once you were up 5 points? By flat, do you include room to cover commissions by a tick or so, or just...

Can you clearly explain when to switch E-mini contract months?

The actual roll occurs at the pit open on the second Thursday before expiration. Globex only allows one month to be traded in the overnight session. So in this case, Sep will continue to trade overnight Wed into Thursday am. Then Dec will become front month at the pit open on Thursday...

Is it a new bull, or an old bear?

Food for thought: In late 1969, the Dow hit 874. In late 1981, the Dow hit 875. basically sideways for many, many years. Doesn't mean you can't trade it, but sure makes 'buy and hold' a tough proposition.....

    e-mini trade log for IB

I suggest at the minimum you save your Monthly Activity Reports emails, and give them to your accountant either electronically or printed out, however they prefer. You'll need to total up your commissions because IB doesn't include them in the 1099 they'll send you.

The Evolution of an E-mini Trader

Yes and no....(talking about Trade 2) first the no: maybe the best play at that time was to just wait -- you're close to the highs and very near the end of the day -- you're not gonna get much of a swing down if you're right, unless you're prepared to hold overnight. Now the yes: if you're...

The Evolution of an E-mini Trader

Huios, Just a few comments on your trades, if you don't mind.... On Trade 1, look how steep the 'bounce' was that you shorted, creating a V looking bottom. I think there's too much strength there to try and fade it -- look for bounces that appear to be rolling over, or are very choppy --...

    Now We Really Bottomed !!!!!

re: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=81477 All the smack talking and gloating on the other 'bottom' threads makes me take back my original call -- we're now officially at stage 14!!! edit: but I'm still not liking the right side of that chart! 3dog
