    S&P correction

Gotta love the all-technical range on the ES today - between 1075 and 1100 ... We've been stuck in range all year - now it's time to get some affirmative (re-)action. :D

Multiple monitor and Graphics card Q

I think Gnome is right. Get a dual-head video-card from ATI or NVidia - check out the All-in-wonder cards or e.g. ASUS V-series cards with dual DVI-output. If you need more than 2 monitors, check out some of the speciality cards and monitors - but then you're talking spacebucks already. I use...

    Security

lilboy, you are of course correct, and many of the current trading platforms do not have sufficient security in my view. SSL is truly weak and offers no comfort on it's own either. When I was developing secure customer login I always included a security token which would be updated and...

    S&P correction

Now that we're breaking 1080 - let's see if 1075 will hold ... Technicals are important too. A post-12:30 accelerated selloff as the europeans are out ? :D

    FIX connectivity to execute trades

I was looking into the FIX protocol some time back, mostly for use in packet analyzing ... (tcpdump). I was wondering if you included support for FIX encryption ?

    S&P correction

Well, the (implicit) problem is fund managers and what they'll do before that FOMC meeting because the fact that it ends 2h before Q2 ends. Thinking that a FOMC meeting will have no effect on markets or USD because rates are "only 1%" is rather naïve; but of course it won't topple off the...

    S&P correction

I agree, and think the fact that the next FOMC meeting in june will end 2 hours before the end of Q2 will give some added fuel to the downturn. Closer to 1000 flat is my guess - but it doesn't really matter what the number is - only the direction. And I believe in longer term problems too - but...

    Attack on ET members beware

If I were running a competing site to EliteTrader I could have a really nice time trying to ruin perhaps one of the best trader-talk sites on the net. Not trying to be paranoid - just talking (tough) business. If there isn't already some sorts of scanning of similar ip's and various...

Barbaric Humans come from all Countries

... and the biggest nations probably got the biggest numbers of them, if statistics would do us any justice here.

do you believe "Scientist" has "over $100k" in his trading account?

Yes, second that .. ROFL (not kidding)

do you believe "Scientist" has "over $100k" in his trading account?

Hehe, just try to get through my flame-proof asbestos vest if you can ... Moderator's ridicule don't scare me, and your practice is bad for Internet site business if you think about it a little.

Mossad Nabbed In Tennessee......not A Peep On Televitz

No further info on whether they were Israeli extremists or just concerned about the security of the airspace around the local nuclear facilities ? I don't know any hard statistics about this, but Israeli drivers have been reported to not be among the best drivers in the world, to say the least -...

do you believe "Scientist" has "over $100k" in his trading account?

LongShot, like I've said before: I won't put you on my ignore list, because sometimes you might write something useful - and you are admitedly very funny. People I have on my ignore-list are mostly shouting nationalists, hipocrats and totally biased and blind argumentative spammers. They...

do you believe "Scientist" has "over $100k" in his trading account?

A very funny thread and good for many laughs ... I guess one has to be careful about how one is wording posts - especially with regards to the fact that electronic forums like these offer "very limited sensory input" to back the bursts of words being tapped on the keyboard at all hours around...

    The thing about "day trading"

I guess having friends, a family with children and a social life more than weighs up for not contributing professionally ... Just to point out another long-lived and popular perspective. Not everyone are marxist followers trying to build a better ant-hill. :p

    Need Help Math Coprocessor

You should do a RAM/memory test .. That is normally the culprit in corruption of normal running PC environment. I forgot where the program was - but check the usual suspects like download.com, tucows etc ... It's normally not your CPU which is faulty in cases like this.

Datafeed quality during May FOMC statement

There was quite a lot of rapid movement during and after the announcement today. IB showed it's strength in being able to follow the markets quite well during the quick spurts of trading. The other quotes like the indices and some bonds were blank during various lapses, though. It has struck...

will IB provide historical data later?

My understanding was that the IB affiliate eSignal has that part of the business ... It would be nice if they could provide some limited historical relapses because of the forced shutdowns and as a courtesy to the API programmers who do their own recordings. Perhaps something like a full one...

Advanced Methods (Neurals Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Fuzzy Logic, etc...)

Excellent link, ramora! Didn't know about this NN tool before, and found another and newer version implemented in Java - JavaNNS - http://www-ra.informatik.uni-tuebingen.de/software/JavaNNS/welcome_e.html . JavaNNS provides a GUI on top of calls to a DLL for NNS. This makes it really easy...
