    The S&P 500 topped at 3481

You stopped out on this call September 01 when the market closed at 3527. For someone who makes grand macro pronouncements to the world for market tops - you are damned skiddish with your stops :D

    inflation and stocks

Moderate (that is, manageable) inflation allows Companies and Businesses to incrementally raise the prices for their goods and services. Simple as that. In a zero or very low inflation environment, Companies and Businesses that raise prices risk losing market share to competitors. This is...

Crude Oil Inventories February 24, 2021

For the past 15 years or so trading news in the Energy and Interest Rate spaces has been risky - I'm talking about my own personal experience. It's no secret that big Commercials will wait for a number to bring in liquidity - and that enables them to unload or create a position.

Is overtrading when scalping a problem on its own or only because of fees?

Now there's an extrapolation. :D I wish everyone good fortune ! If you can make consistent profits over a protracted period of time scalping and competing directly with the Bots and Algos and ATS's and the order flow buyers, then by all means keep doing what you're doing. Personally, I'm all...

The British Pound has been in a nice gradual technical downtrend since 2008. Maybe that will change.

Is overtrading when scalping a problem on its own or only because of fees?

It’s not a matter of being a “believer”, it’s a matter of risk versus reward. I would make the case that if you are manually trading - you’re better off taking 3 highly selective trades per day instead of 50 “scalps” per day. If you want to take 50 trades per day: that’s what automated...

The US needs to rethink what it is doing with its dollar

The Dollar fully floats in the international FX markets, and TBH unless the United States is about to pay off all of its Sovereign Debt (No) or the US is going to default on Debt Coupon Payments (No) other than flooding the market further with some insanely preposterous amount of printed Dollars...

    the top is in

You don't have to time a market in order to be a successful trader. If sellers are taking the bid liquidity you step in front of them and sell. If buyers are taking the offer liquidity you step in front of them and buy. You don't need to make these sweeping macro market calls - that's Jack...

    the top is in

You've been posting since 2009 that the market is overbought and due for a selloff. But you don't spend any time reflecting on the source of your message. The world is wrong and you are right. It is just such a counterproductive frame of mind for trading successfully. Real professional...

Is overtrading when scalping a problem on its own or only because of fees?

So you're going to trade the US equity markets from Europe using a discount broker and you want to scalp? Probably the first thing you should do is make a list of advantages versus disadvantages to that scenario. Hint: the disadvantages are not minor.

Is overtrading when scalping a problem on its own or only because of fees?

My trading career started out scalping in the CBOT Bond Pit. There you had about a one-half second time advantage and you could make a go at it. In the very late nineties into the early 2000's in Chicago there were about 15 to 20 proprietary futures trading firms where scalping on the screen...
