The reason I dont use any indicators

Yes, and as I can remember, I'm pretty sure I tried to make similar points to him. But maybe my power of persuasion wasn't good enough as I think he gave up trading. Sort of felt bad that I wasn't able to help him.

The reason I dont use any indicators

You should post more of them, and someday put all of them together in what I'm sure would be a best selling trading book!

The reason I dont use any indicators

So very true! Quite a few years ago an up and coming trader I knew, who was the Einstein type, had a problem with hesitating to enter/exit trades due to his 'thinking'. He asked me how to avoid this 'thinking' problem, but as I had never faced such myself, I couldn't come up with an answer other...

The reason I dont use any indicators

The reason I dont use any indicators The actual price movement is as precise as can be. Indicators, by design, less so. So why handicap yourself and settle for a tool that is simply derived from the price movement? I look at price movement as being the heart, and indicators the pulse. And I...

    1. Never take a laxative just before the market opens. 2. Never take Viagra just before the market opens. Never take Viagra and a laxative together. You won't know if you're coming or going.

Shooting down a North Korean bullet: Inside the mind games of missile defence

Yeah, I too had the gut reaction that we should shoot them down. Actually still do! But if we did, there's no telling what that kid with the funny haircut might do to save face. If he was stupid enough to take a shot at one of our, or Japan's, ships, that would be the spark that lit the fire...

    Is manual day trading dead?

No need for nostalgia. You still have the greatest edge of all, being, reading the trend ! And how can a zillion gigabytes of AI do any better than enter and exit a trend as early as possible, which humans have been doing since the first markets opened? One of the world's greatest traders once...

If you knew then what you know now, what would you have done differently to learn to trade?

I often read and hear traders say how they find that exiting a trade skillfully is more difficult than executing a good entry. I imagine that for most traders the desire for profits reduces the amount of analysis done at the entry, and the 'Let your profits run' saying causes hesitation to exit...

    Al Brooks method

You should be able to judge from Xela's writings if she knows her stuff or not. And if you can't, it shows that she is so far ahead of you that you'll never catch up. Good or bad, her actual trading records are nobody's business, and are not required to be shown by someone who makes such a great...

    Beginner seeking guidance

Bennny, adding something quite similar to what Xela very correctly stated above, by back testing, you will learn the very often overlooked point that the price movement will tell you what to do 1% of the time. But, more importantly, 99% of the time it will tell you what NOT to do!!

No one seems to use indicators

An extremely valuable and much overlooked point is what the details of the actual price movement can do which indicators are incapable of doing to nearly as great an extent. No one seems to use indicators

Why would one need indicators if the actual price movement can be read? For those who can't read price movement, indicators may be the tool of choice. So just as the nurse only feels your pulse, the doctor listens to your heart! Do you want to be a nurse or a doctor?
