The Big One Just Hit ...

The moment the article mentioned the strengthing yen, the article certainly gained some credibilty. Art Cashin has been mentioning the strengthing yen as a problem for some time.

    Opinions on "TigerDirect"

I have ordered from Tiger Direct many times with no problems. The other day a rep called me just to make sure my recent order had no problems. Thumbs up.

    Marc Cuban on Day Trading

. State your affiliation. I am sure your team did much better. The Mavs were the worst team in the league before Cuban showed up. He is the best owner the Mavs have had by far.

Bank Of America To Invest $2 Billion In Countrywide: Wsj

Crap, I shorted a couple of days ago for a trade. It looks like my account will get hit tommorow.

Look at the volume bars at the right side of that chart. This "correction" just might be different than the rest.

EBAY -- Reasons To Be Cautious About It Future

I know a bunch of sellers who have their cousin or friend bid on items if the selling prices are too low late in the auction cycle. This is just blatant fraud and what is the point of having an auction if there isn't much chance of getting a bargain?

    High oil prices are good...

The question is is the 'foreign-direct investment' coming from oil producing nations?

    Do folks like TDAmeritrade?

I have also been with Ameritrade since the switch from Datek. At first I was angry because I lost Datek but have been happy with Ameritrade Apex ever since. $10 a trade isn't bad for swing trading. There are no extra fees and if you don't trade for a while your account will not incur any...

    Shorting question

Yes, as long as you aren't a holder when the stock price is adjusted down for the dividend then you don't have to pay.

Time to start accumulating homebuilder stocks

This monthy chart of Lennar doesn't look good. There might be a short term bounce but the next couple of years might get ugly. [img=http://images3.pictiger.com/thumbs/ab/b0279fd495674674dee9f429ad24b7ab.th.png]

Something is going to happen to Micron (MU) soon!!!

That is definitely as significant increase in volume over the last two months. DRAM price/demand wouldn't account for that large of an increase. I have been a lurker here for many years and just don't post very much but I would like to thank Michael for the chart and the post.

TD Ameritrade: not ure typical mom & pop boiler-room, or is it?

I'm in the same boat. I really liked Datek and now I am with Ameritrade. Ameritrade adopted some of the better Datek stuff but changed the interface. Now are they going to change the interface again?

Crude at $65 will signal market callapse

It wouldn't surpise me to see bonds crater. Inflation has been tame for so long that a reversal is likely due. And when bonds crater the multiples on stocks will likely crater too. I don't know when but sooner rather than later imo.

    best excel feed?

I use DTN IQ and feed it into Excel and it works flawlessly. I love it. If you pay for the data annually if costs about $65 a month for everything including exchange fees. That includes options.

    Series7 without working for a firm =How?

Yep, I agree with most here that the S7 is completely useless if you don't need to take it. I can't imagine wanting to take the exam if you don't have to. It is merely a general knowledge exam.

    I'm capitulating

With the S&P at 830 thats a P/E of 16 or an earnings yield of 6.2% compared to a 10 yr T-bill rate of 4.29%. This is the largest that spread has been since 1982. If you take out tech the P/E gets much lower. The yield on the S&P is WAY lower than 6.2%. Where did you get that number. I bet...

    why so many bears

Investors got cocky after many, many years of uninterupted growth. Now they will pay for their buy and hold strategy with many, many years of interupted growth. Buy and hold is dead. It is time to trade.

Who is your favorite permabull to ridicule?

Battipaglia is without a doubt the biggest "permabull". That guy will candy coat any bad news. Rates going up? No Problem. Battipaglia says that rates will be lower soon and the market is a forward looking mechanism. Rates going down? Hell, everybody knows the market goes up with interest...
