It’s not much. The E-mini S&P 500 Futures come with the lowest day trading margins. Some brokers ask for $500 and this means that you need to have this much of an amount in the account to buy or sell the contract.
All the momentum traders care about is price action and relying on technical analysis and indicators, sorts their trading plan on when to enter and exit the trade.
You are right Neal. All brokers don’t let you trade with such a low amount. You will have to check that with your broker. Before you start trading with any broker, you can check their minimum account requirements before investing your money.
I completely agree with you. As a beginner, you might find forex trading as an easy way of making money. But when you actually go live in the market, you might realize that it is not what you have read in your books. I made the same mistake when I invested a big amount with Octafx in the...
Jastin you are right in some way. But I don’t think that there is any strategy that can always get you profits. Losing is a part of forex trading and there is no strategy that is 100% efficient. Or is there any?
This bracket is no doubt a better option but let’s agree that not everyone is a full time day trader and can’t trade within 08 -10 and 12-03 GMT. So, the next better time window for them here is 06 and 04 afternoon
I completely agree with you. There is nothing like the best strategy for a trader. In some situations, a different strategy might work for you. So, it is better to try out a few so that you know which strategy you can use in a particular situation.
I beg to differ here. The high volatility factor could have been easy for you and that’s good but majorly speaking, this one aspect leads to high price fluctuations. In case traders aren’t careful or stay alert, a winning position or profit can easily become a loss.
I have been there, being a new trader getting a call from etrade (my then trader) I got so pale that I stopped trading altogether. Fault was mine, I was just a noob trying to gamble my way through the markets. On restarting trading I was more serious, surely using leverage with fxview and...
It is similar to GBPNZD, equally volatile, not meant for beginners. For those just starting up, it is best to trade eurusd or gbpusd on an easier interface like metatrader (4 or 5) that many brokers like xtb, fxview etc offer.
Whether long term or short, the risk of losing money is real in both the cases. We never know when the next crisis comes at which cost. The stock market gurus had predicted the crisis of 2008 but they never knew the extent to which many of the traders and investors lost. During the pandemic I...
For a long term option, Asian session is good. Only for day trading I wouldn’t recommend it, or else that’s the beauty of forex trading. When one session closes, another opens. Again, I wouldn’t recommend JPY for London, works better with NY open.
I agree with you Peter, but for long term strategies the ROI takes a very long time. It's not possible to gain some substantial amount of money even after a year or two. Strategies used and trading techniques, everything is different.
It’s absolutely fine to keep your investment amount small. For almost a year when I first started trading with Etrade I never went beyond 2k, and that too because that was the minimum required in order to avail margin with the broker. Believe me or not, I only traded $200 as my first trade on...
How much your account will grow will depend on your initial investment and the amount of risk you are ready to take. And as far as taking risk is concerned, it’s better to be mentally prepared to lose all of your money. So put at stake only as much as you are ready to lose. No more or no less...
