Does anyone know anything about selling options

Forgot to mention. When volatility is high and options become expensive is better to be a seller. When volatility is low and and options become cheap is better to be a buyer.

Does anyone know anything about selling options

These are three rules that could save you some money. 1. Stay away from deep in the money options. 2. Stay away from deep out of the money options. 3. Trade slightly out of the money, at the money, or slightly in the money options.

I almost lost my Shirt , trading today

I agree with you. People have to realize that competition is much tougher in stocks like GOOG or AAPL than in those stocks that are out of the spotlight. The best specialists and market makers are in these stocks, you also have to add that Merrill and Goldman also put their best traders...

    The Myth of Common Stocks

Common people shouldn't get involved with stocks, a lot of talent, time and patience is required to be a good stock picker, something people don't have. On my opinion ETFs represent the best alternative for investors due to the diversifications they offer and the small commissions.

Why isn't anyone discussing what is going on?

When a subject is important few people participate. Ask for solutions for isnomnia and you'll find a thousand replies. Billions and Billions in foreign investment have flown to Japan in the last years, billions that come from deep pockets, so maybe they won't let this crisis last for much...

    Don't Americans see it?

The markets tend not to pay attention to personal opinions, they are contrarian by nature. Don't argue with the market or you'll get wiped out.

Opening Range Breakout, for Futures and Equities

After reading Fisher's book I decided to print some charts and sketched opening ranges and pivots, as suggested by Fisher. After making some back-testing I found that the method is not suitable for most stocks, but I found a small group that seems to bounce magically against the points...

Opening Range Breakout, for Futures and Equities

I trade stocks using the Fisher's ACD with some variations of my own and with some filters I have added in only 3 stocks which I have found that bounce against the OR and the pivots. I am very happy with the results, this method has allowed me to churn less and have more profitable trades...

    Insider Trading

Some bigots say that Jesse Livermore is no longer interesting and that his philosophy no longer applies to these modern times. Maybe they are right, but my humble opinion is that those concepts related with human nature are timeless. People haven't evolved much since the Middle Ages. One of...

    Who are your favorite specialists?

There is a game commonly played by Specialists which some people call "weak hands", in which they show big buying orders attracting people to later pull the orders making "weak hands" dump their stock at any given price. Should the Specialist be blamed for this evil procedure? I don't think so...
