    NYSE open book

What are those special features on ESignal's NYOB? I'm scalper so for me a minimun delay of any detail (tick chart, book, or prints) can make a huge difference.

Forbes: GOOG could fall 50% in 2006

I unfortunately listen to CNBC all day. Less than one month ago all you heard about Google was good, very good, I even remember a troll saying that he was expecting Goog to reach $2,000!!! That's when I said to my partner, "Maybe Goog is topping". I didn't short it, I don't trade NASDAQ. Now...

    NYSE open book

I don't use ESignal but I hear constant complains from other traders about delays in Times & Sales, I haven't heard the same about the NYOB.

all this bad sentiment on GOOG is music for the ears of a contrarian. maybe the time has come to go long again.

Does anyone know which is the commission that ETrade Professional charges per 100 shares? Does anyone here trade in their office in 57th St?

    Day vs Position Trading

forgot to mention. I'm a Day-Trader and scalp the market for a living. But when I see a stock making an heroic close I like to buy it, hold it overnight and sell it at the opening bell. It works more often than when it doesn't.:D

    Day vs Position Trading

Holding positions overnight is more profitable than Day-Trading, you have to realize that big moves (positive or negative) happen overnight. Look at the historical prices of any ETF like SPY or any commodity and check the previous close and the next opening for a long period of time and...

Books that have influenced you the most

TA for Dummies was the first book on Trading I read, is not bad, not at all. As long as I remember it was written by Barbara Rockefeller who has a good resume.

    Day-trading exposure

War was going pretty well for Hitler when he was only battling the British and the French. But the Fuhrer decided to split and open a new front in Russia and everything went down-trend from that moment. If he had listened to his generals history would be different. Thanks God the Allies won...

The Alan GreenSpan GoodBye Thread-Any Comments about his Tenor :D

Greenspan is gone which is good. Hopefully the new guy won't follow his path and will keep his opinions regarding the stock market for himself. We don't need a troll that shouts "Irrational Exuberance" when he considers that the stock market is too high.

Scalper 250 to 500 trades per day

I have found a very good way to avoid having huge loses in a single day. is the strikeout rule, if I have three strikes in a row I stand-up, have coffee and watch TV for a few minutes. Then I start trading again, if I strikeout again I go out and light a Cuban cigar. Then I come back and if I...

Scalper 250 to 500 trades per day

Steve Tvardek is right, be careful don't run. I don't even suggest you to take your 300 shares right away, first take 200, then 100 and if the trade starts moving keep adding 100, then, 100 and then maybe 100. Play defense, solid defense like Larry Brown.

Scalper 250 to 500 trades per day

Don't let me be misunderstood, I also do the same thing on the short side, but unfortunately there are not many NYSE stocks that are shortable without the stupid up-tick rule. I never short those stocks because they have to up-tick to be shorted and if they up-tick the odds that they might go...

Scalper 250 to 500 trades per day

To average down can kill you faster than drinking Drano, I don't recommend it, but if it works for you it's fine. I usually start with 1,000 shares and on the way up add up to 1,000 more, sometimes 1,500. Unfortunately people are lazy and buy and sit hoping that the stock will start moving...

Scalper 250 to 500 trades per day

Is there a proven method to win in Baseball, Football, Basketball or Soccer? In Baseball some teams have been good playing the Sabermetric way like the A's or the Red Sox, others succeed playing long ball like the Yankees, while others win playing small ball like the White Sox or the Angels...

Scalper 250 to 500 trades per day

I trade an average of 200,000 shares per day trading only NYSE stocks. Despite the large volume I have I'm profitable due to the great commissions I enjoy. My average P/L allows me to pay my commissions, SEC fees, and put money in my pocket which I use to take positions overnight in stocks that...
