I put another batch to work near the close. Bought 5k of paas and 500-1500 of every gold stock i own. Nothing large, just working my basis. I've traded really well lately and i have a lot of capital to put to work.

The problem with a prop is that you only have so much equity. Basically you are playing with leverage. I feel unsafe being leveraged more than 1.5:1 overnight or 2.5:1 intraday. I think those are very agressive numbers at that. If you want to trade 5m in capital, you need to have a few million...

The main issues are finding capital (not easy) and time commitment. Assume that back office/paperwork/talking with clients/fund raising efforts will take 3 times as long as you normally would assume. Those things definitely affect your profitibility.

Fleck is the real deal. He has made me more money than anyone else alive with the possible exception of Marc Faber. He bashes semis, but they are nutty expensive. Fleck does like to be right, and he usually is. I think he is a bit more conservative than most, so he doesn't like to loose...

Thanx Hollywood. I always appreciate your comments. Gold probably has stalled out for a few months. Gut feeling is that we don't see new highs for 3 months or so. That's just fine with me. I intend to just hold on.

I own 20 physical ounces. I figure that if things really do go to shit, we will have enough warning that we can buy up a lot more gold in a few weeks time. My 20 are just a safety blanket. If I have to flee, I am going to need some gold to bribe off customs guys and border officials.
