small crap is where its at.

Made big money on DDN. I still think it's cheap even though I am up 300% on it in the last year. I bought a bunch more at 6 on thursday. Other pick I am in is PTSX. I have a lot of that too. Good luck and do your own dd.

    Spinoffs

Thanx, I see the IPO data. There is a lot of it. I was mainly just looking for data on stocks that were getting spun off. A lot of times everyone dumps something until it is crazy cheap. Is there anywhere else where this data exists? Thanx in advance.

    Spinoffs

Hey, I have been doing a lot of work and a lot of the best values I find are recent spinoffs where owners of the parent's stock get a few shares and they then just liquidate the position, hence the low valuation. Is there a website that might track these spinoffs? I would appreciate any...

College Students and Other Future Traders

I barely attended college, and only did it part time in night school. Maybe my response would be different if I took a full class load. I think I did all the important things. I joined a fraternity, and had many crazy adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I don't know if I would force my...

College Students and Other Future Traders

I agree with you in almost all respects, but I think that many other traders are like me. I started during my senior year of high school with just chump change. I grew it to a large account. I then started my hedge fund during my senior year of college. I graduated a few weeks ago, and I have...

There is a bigger funnier article somewhere in TSCM. I both longed and shorted in that contest. It is amazing what you can do with no slippage and internet stocks that go 30 pts a day.

Scary. You guys know way too much about me.

Yeah. And I'd have like a few zillion or something at the rate I was going.. Or whatever the reporter thought. It is pretty easy with no slippage. Much harder in real life.

I bet Aaron is too humble to post this himself, but his fund posted a 26% return for the month of May. (Sure better than my fund did). That's quite a comeback, a good step towards digging himself out of the hole. I still believe that he will be able to show a nice gain by year end, and those...

    Returns Before Hedge Fund

Not that I am too experienced myself, but I think my best advice would be to go out and set up a fund to get a performance record. It really doesn't cost that much to set up and run. Everyone wants at least a few months of results before they invest. Even if you and your father are the only...

    Returns Before Hedge Fund

My accountant said that it was because of legal reasons that you shouldn't include much about past returns. It would also involve an audit (expensive if you are like me and used your trading account for a checking account as well. I have 100+ accounting periods over a 3 year period).

    Returns Before Hedge Fund

My accountant told me not to mention my past records. He said it wasn't even worth auditing them. They don't matter to anyone but the IRS.

    Demise Of Soros' Influence

Many of the greatest men have only been great because they knew how to hire great people and then use their decisions in a framework to reach conclusions and success. Look at Citigroup. Sandy weil is brilliant. But he also hired the best. Look at what jamie dimon did now at bank one for...

House cap. gains cut to cap at 15%?

What can I say.... Glad I voted for bush. The job of any elected official is to reduce taxes and then get out of my face. Bush is doing just that. For us traders, this means that we should start looking much longer term. You think gold is higher in a year, buy some nem and pay 15% on it. You...

    Demise Of Soros' Influence

I agree. But they were using way too much margin. They had no room for error. When I want leverage, I buy options. At least my maximum risk is assured. I never play big with unlimited loss potential.

    Selecting an off- shore country

I am paranoid too. Great points from all of you. One point that I have been adament about from the start is that I want a big 4 firm to issue me an opinion letter on whatever documents I have made up.

    Demise Of Soros' Influence

Excellent point. I really learned a lot from market wizards. That was the biggest moral. When you are right, and every bone in your body says so, you have to push the edge and really play big. This doesn't mean to do every trade big, but when you KNOW you are right, there's no sense in playing...

    Selecting an off- shore country

Notice in the link that you provide to GTT site under "Offshore Funds" where it says basically this function is under the purview of your "non-GTT affiliated administrator." Well that is one gigantic area of influence and jurisdiction that GTT has no control over. And it is here that you will...

What do you mean by the Caymans rolled over. I agree with you too. This is something that I will ask about more. One reason I am asking on this forum is that there are a lot of Very intelligent people on ET like you guys. I want to get many good opinions. Just so you know, I am...
