Anyone trading Tokyo stocks with IB yet?

Bolter, FWIW, I was trading on OSE last night and it seems a lot better than it used to be. TSE used to be shoddy. But there has been a lot going on in Japan. Competition can do that. They were told to modernize their exchanges or die out. They are modernizing quickly (apparently) I...

    IB cash withdrawals via ACH?

I have used ACH and it works well. But I have yet to use ACH with IB. Seems to work better than wire transfers once you have it set up. Is there an actual limit to how much cash can be transfered via ACH in the US? does IB have a limit?

    IB & ECBOT stops

Ecbot quotes for the YM options are NOT coming through on IB's platform. I have notified IB a few days ago and no dice. seems there are a few ECbot problems at either IB or the exchange itself.

Anyone trading Tokyo stocks with IB yet?

Did you hear this through IB? I saw the "span" margining on OSE's website and assumed it had CFTC approval. After all, the large contract has the approval. CFTC takes forever and totally sucks. They still have not approved the Kospi. CFTC=Communists Futures Trading Futures

Anyone trading Tokyo stocks with IB yet?

Thanks you very much. One upside is that all you have to do is remember the number of the company. Good thing numbers and charts are universal.

Anyone trading Tokyo stocks with IB yet?

It appears to be 10 bucks a month for the data at OSE. It is a lot more on other platforms. Ten bucks does not seem to bad a price to pay to check it out. I used to have to pay a whole lot more to check out a new exchange/trading product 10 years ago. :-)

Anyone trading Tokyo stocks with IB yet?

About the only way to short Japan is the Nikkei futures on SGX and OSE. The new Nikkei 225 Mini on OSE is supposedly liquid and Reuters just did an article on it and someone that made a half million US dollars trading it. (quite an acomplishment seeing as the mini is only 230 dollars margin.)...

good call Creative Rocks IMO. Works great. You can use it as a recorder (dictate notes or loosing trades). U can also record from the radio. It can seem a little bulky at first but for me it was a nice step down in size from the old sony walkman/diskman.

    IB new forex spreads

That is a good explanation. Yes, you are right we can switch base currencies. And yes you are right forex traders do not like to have to switch base currencies everytime to get a more appropriate margin for the position! You record the positions just like Interbank. It is just the margining...

    IB new forex spreads

IBj Looks like quite an improvement on IB's part. Are you guys going to stop double margining crossrates? Crossrate margin is at 4%. That is the most uncompetitive thing about Ideal Pro. 2% is one thing. Tying up 2% on the EUR and 2%on the JPY is uncompetitive and expensive considering...

Oh my. How long have you used these guys? Their Super Mini account has some of the widest spreads I have seen in quite some time. http://www.forexyard.com/supermini_dealing_details.php read'em and weep Rates on the normal 'pro' account seem average. But they do offer spreads on...

Jobs in Sydney, Australia for US citizens?

TRUST ME. Fake US DOLLARS ARE A PROBLEM IN EVERY COUNTRY ON EARTH. That is why the US has had to redo it's currency. North Korea would have definitely spread them across Asia. U should have no problem with your dollars getting converted to Aussie Dollars. I would not worry or...

Jobs in Sydney, Australia for US citizens?

Good call. I believe that is why. Fake US dollars are abundant in places overseas. Even in Europe. The IRA pawned a fortune in the damn things all over the place. Apparently, from North Korea. In fact, all the work the US Govt. is doing by changing and fooling with the look of the...

Jobs in Sydney, Australia for US citizens?

I think everyone should be hedged against Dollars AND all other politicians. Politicians screw up every currency. Always have. With all that said, many times overseas people are worried about FAKE US Currency. There could be some of that in play as well.
