    Working on Consistent Profitability

On the ES I will do the same, since I am comfortable with the chart and have exact prices where I know I am still safe or in trouble. So far with my CL SIMing, I'm working with limit orders. We'll see where I am after 3 months or so :D

five years later (the previous 5), still struggling!

I agree with this. I think you should lower your trade total to 3 max, and even that should only be a buffer for you to try to catch a single move between 7-8:30 a.m. PST. At least for me, I suck at the afternoons compared to the mornings, so as I got better my trade window got smaller and...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Yeah, I see the concern there. The last thing that I want is for someone to think you can just trade every TL break and be filthy rich. This is exactly why last week I asked about what tlow is using for longer term support and resistance. Once we found support at 97's, I ignored shorts and...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Tlow, I guess it depends on what time frame / tick chart you are using, but you seem to be getting taken out right when everyone who waited for confirmation is just getting in! I use tick based charts, and right where you got taken out for break even is where I was setting my limit order...

This is a good point. The same price action principles apply, but the range is tighter and the tick size is less intense. The YM is probably the best option, because it "flows" more than the ES as well.

Tlow, Again I think NoD hit it on the mark. It really sounds like you are suffering from a battle of your ego within. It is easier to not follow your plan and be wrong, allowing your ego to say "well I would have been fine had I just followed my plan". As opposed to following a plan you...

I agree with Matcha 100%. Pick one setup, and learn how to KILL that setup in your sleep. If the CL is your instrument of choice, that would most likely be all that you need anyway. For instance, I have a trade I call the "lip" trade. This is only one of a number of lip trades that took...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Hey man, sorry to hear you are going through a tough time. Everyone has their path, and I think that there is respect in deciding sooner rather than later that this may not be for you. That being said, it would be great to see you hang in there and finally get over the hump. All I can say...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

All my order placement goes through Infinity, so unfortunately I won't be able to comment on the TOS fills. I'm not going to get too cocky right out of the gate, as that will surely lead to a beatdown of epic proportions I'm sure. My r:r increases from 2:1 on the ES to almost 4.5:1 on the...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Tlow, I've been reading regularly (as you know). Today I finally broke down and opened a CL chart to SIM on. I think I am in love..... The ES seemed like an aging turtle after taking a crack at this thing for an hour or so.

Did you end up front running, or are you still expecting S to eventually trade?

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Although most of what NoD said is valid, I will focus in on this particular point. When I get stopped it actually makes me excited for the next setup. Because of my stats I know what my win rate should be, and a failed setup gets me closer to the next setup that statistically should run for my...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Tlow, If you are disappointed in a b/e, maybe you are thinking too much about the money / ticks that you can make over the money / ticks that you can lose? I learned to love b/e stops because it meant I didn't lose any money to be wrong. Another step in the process for me was constantly...

Hey man, you seem to be doing a lot better with the CL trades, congrats!

    Working on Consistent Profitability

No worries man, I didn't take a single trade today at all anyway. I had resistance on the 4H at 82.25's, but price didn't set up well (for me) and created that huge channel. I was looking for a long into the fill this morning as well, but again not everything lined up to give me the confidence...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Good stuff today man! Congrats on pulling the plug on the loser in the afternoon, that was ace. The other breakout trades were good as well. I don't have too much to add, maybe NoD can throw down some additional insight?

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Right, you definitely do NOT want to do that. For what it's worth, I have had people scoff at the idea of simming, and I always mentioned to them that I would rather make imaginary money than lose real money. The key is that your setups / trade criteria should be automatic for you. It should...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Tlow, I don't know what to say to make you feel better, other than I understand your frustration and that I was there for months and months and months on end before some things clicked into place for me. I guess if I had to make one comment, it's that you seem to like to trade channel...
