"Price Action Only" traders - More likely to be successful?

I was going to post the same link but forgot to by the end of my posts. Here's a guy that has a solid feel for what volume means compared to certain market "structure". He doesn't seem to have any bonafide trading setups, but has watched the price chart of the CL long enough to have a good...

"Price Action Only" traders - More likely to be successful?

Well I guess I would have to say that price action is easier, after you've acquired enough face time to see the same things hundreds of times over and over and over. I think people search for the holy grail because they don't want to have to think about the trade, they want to be on autopilot...

"Price Action Only" traders - More likely to be successful?

Agreed. It's a lot easier to say that if you've been watching the same futures contract for 12 years straight :p Some of the best money I ever made trading was when I first started out. I had "found" a terrific two candle pattern on the daily chart, which gave me an expected break of the...

"Price Action Only" traders - More likely to be successful?

In my opinion, price action is actually a lot simpler than trying to decipher FA or TA. I think people make trading a lot more complicated than it has to be. I remember reading a post from someone on a different forum, where they had been trying to squeeze advice out of a "pro" that they knew...

Yeah I'm feeling danger zone and no trades for the rest of the day.

    CL Redux

For me it totally depends on the volume that got us there. Did the volume trend break just before the triangle break? In this case, no. In most cases, the volume / participation is more important than the pattern itself (at least for me). It's like this: "Ok, someone just placed a huge...

Testing lower, but where's the volume?

Starting to look like a setup here. I just need someone with more $$$ to decide where they want to take it.

I couldn't make much of this morning, so no trades for me.

    CL Redux

Okay, well I hope everyone had a good day today! I said I would share my charts and bare all, so if everyone is cool with it here goes. The charts are split up into 2 parts, since I trade the ES live in the a.m., and then squeeze what I can in during the afternoon session while at my other...

    CL Redux

Right. Until now, my number one setup has been "watch for volume and hop on for the reversal that the volume is anticipating". I think another valid setup is "watch for volume, and if that volume order goes underwater, trade with the direction of their stop out".

    CL Redux

What I have really been studying (now that volume is my best friend) is the prices at which these huge volume spikes come in at. I know you can draw horizontal lines on these prices after some price action has developed, but I'm trying to visualize the market as active buyers and sellers. When...

I think it wants to go back up. I didn't take a long, but it looks like prices below the previous low were rejected.

+1000. Because I consider myself regimented to the point of boredom on the ES, I've been using the CL as a way to blow off steam. I really think that I can do well on it if I just buckle down, so I might as well bare all and get serious about it sooner rather than later.
