It is 101 Option Class, however, when you are in the real world, you will realise sometime you need to long the front month (or even front week) options. LEAP is always a bad choice IMHO. :D

I agreed, end of the day, to make $$, you need to have a good judgement and ability to predict if the market is going to: 1) UP 2) Down 3) Sideway You have to be right in the direction. Same thing applied to the volatility. Options (include IC) just a instruments and it won't give you...

The problem is no one has the crystal ball to tell "when" is the favorable market, for example, the current VIX is around 16, in theory, it is the worst time for IC, however, you can always argue that the low VIX mean the market will most likely stays side way and it is a good time to do IC. :D

The question is - how you know their direction and ride on them ? :D
