    Profitable ES Daytrading Style Survey

It seems that there are only a few voting for countertrend trades, Here's a site which uses it and is quite successful - http://bellsouthpwp.net/g/e/gene417/ Not my style psychologically but cant help noticing them making point after point. BTW, I always use a stop and a target...

    i cant stop winning

No, there are a lot of dates to pick from - so no need to worry about market memory - http://66.175.18.214/DaCharts/constant_tick_playback/ES/ Another thing is that you can change the starting price - so the original support and resistance numbers wont matter. Actually, very good for...

    Profitable ES Daytrading Style Survey

Just wondering what trading styles are used by profitable ES daytraders. I monitor some chatrooms and many have opposite styles (taking opposite trades at the same time) but still net profitable. Other parameters might include targets and stops and timeframe used. pretzel

How to hedge e-mini S&P exposure when systems go down?

I think the least of all evils is buying a call if you are caught short. So, which of the following will be the best "option": 1. option on big SP 2. SPX.X option 3. OEX.X option 4. I think options also available for the ES (Any traders trading this?) And how many contracts to protect...

    Ffastrade

Did a quick calculation - For ES, at least 19 RT's per day or 380 RT's per month to be cheaper than IB. For ESTX50, at least 16 RT's per day or 320 RT's per month to be cheaper than IB. I'll keep you in mind when I trade 500 RT's per month. pretzel

    Moving Averages-simple or exponential

Yes, I'm back to using a single MA (the smoothed MA) + MACD after trying a lot of other things (including multiple MA's) - the simpler the better. pretzel

    Moving Averages-simple or exponential

I'll check out the Jurik JMA - does it have a WL version? I'm using the smoothed MA from Ensign for daytrading 1-min ES and it works better than the standard MA's. The WL script version (6 tweakable parameters) is not exactly the same as the Ensign version (fixed unknown parameters). I'm...

    Moving Averages-simple or exponential

I did a search on the WL site and found that somebody already coded the concept but it was not called a smoothed MA - http://www.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/editsystem?id=2230 Saves me the trouble. pretzel

    i cant stop winning

I have moved from simbroker to live trading and I can say that the simbroker is misleading. A printed price is an automatic fill whereas in live trading, you will not be filled automatically (depends on your position in the queue). With actual trades, you will also get a slippage of...

    Moving Averages-simple or exponential

Bruce, This is great. I dont think I can find the answer anywhere else. I never thought that volume was included in the calculation. I'll try to do a WL version. Thanks, pretzel
