    Liquidity - Rebate Trading

Yeah the sub dollar was a definitely another hit ... Some people killed a stock last week (upwards of 50k) and the Nasdaq decided to cut the cord. We basically try to upgrade our game by making gross profits. The credit is still a nice addon, but nowhere near what it was last month :(

Swift Trade Manila Branch, a few questions...

35% is the base payout once you graduate here. After you hit 120k cumulative, base goes up to 40%. 400k cumulative and base will go up to 45%. That is without considering deals you can negociate with your owner... :D Payout structure does differ from country to country, so I can't be...

Swift Trade Manila Branch, a few questions...

I did not receive any wage other than my % payout, which starts out at 35% here. We graduated when we reached 2000 in a month. This will usually take anywhere between 2 to 6 months, but most do it in 3-4.

I can't route with Bats. It hits Bats then hides the remaining shares.

    Swift Montreal Closing?

To my knowledge, not many Swift offices specialize in credit trading. But those that do, do it really well :p Of course, NMS changed the game overnight, so we'll see what happens in the next few months. All I can say is there's a lot more gross profits (as opposed to credit profits) being...

Swift Trade Manila Branch, a few questions...

Jean-Luc is the head of the Manila branch I believe. He was a trader in Quebec City back in the days. Good guy. Unfortunately, I can't tell you much more about that particular branch as it most likely is different from mine which is based in Canada.

    Liquidity - Rebate Trading

Rebate trading on the Nasdaq was very profitable for some people the last few years. As with any other type of trading, you need to have a plan/strategy to avoid the mentionned "bulldozer". With crossing not being permitted anymore, a huge part of the rebate game is now gone, and traders are...

    How many ecns?

BATS has become increasingly important on the Naz indeed. It appears as CINN on level 2 quotes. EDGX was much hotter when crossing the market was allowed, as they offered the highest liquidity rebates. I guess they are now mostly used for their routing ability, which is rather cheap at 0.0026.

Any better prop firm in Canada?

ISB stickies : quotes from the Island ECN "sticking" in the level II, so that they do not represent real quotes anymore (sizes not adjusting or simply not disappearing once they are filled). You might end up having 4 or 5 Island bids and asks that are sticky, making the level II quite confusing...

Any better prop firm in Canada?

Title might not know what ISB stickies are, but it took them months to get access to BATS, which is ridiculous. Plus, if you can trade at all, the payout at Swift doesn't stick at 35 for long. Oh, and people need to learn how to negociate with their owners :p

    $2000 for Swifttrade training?

I paid 400$ as an initial training fee. Then had to make 2000 in a month to become a trader. If you succeed, you won't even think back on it.

    Swift Trade secret to success?

Not entirely true. We're 100% credit trading and are only behind the few millenium firms in Canada.

Third and final interview at Swifttrade...any advice?

Show some determination, discipline and that you are willing to learn. I'm a little surprised that they'd go through 3 interviews, but I guess they are filtering their candidates a little more than they were here :p What branch is that ? You can go ahead and disregard the nasty comments...

Trader P/L 2006 Questions and Discussion

It all depends on trading style really. I get one red day every two months, and I'm nowhere near a great trader. But I'd have to agree that amongst all the different trading styles that are applied by members here, it's hard to believe that red days are so rare for just about everyone. Then...
