Dennis Gartman... GREAT Lesson In Trading

I have seen people have 100% profitable trades for years and still make less than some who had 10% win rate. Win rate is absolutely useless no matter if you got 99% winners or losers. What matters is the average size of winners and losers in combination with win %.

Exited some shorts from 2680 at 2655, we will probably see some retracements overnight.

    Women and life balance

Indeed, I've found it to be a great boon to myself. Sometimes when you cannot explain something so another person can understand you realize that you yourself may not fully understand it. Trading is a very self-centred profession, it's good to have another person around to ground yourself a bit...

I’m wondering if it will be that dramatic. Don’t think it will even trade above 2680. Just downhill from here.

I don’t care about gaps. Only what caused them. Gaps are just a short term reactions of underlying events, how you choose to trade that is your derogatory.

    Women and life balance

I think it’s very important to cleanse a trading trainee first of all. Teach them of biases and how their own psyche will get in the way of trading. The actual trading techniques are easy, especially if you as the teacher has already tested the strategy extensively. Makes me think of a remark...

    Women and life balance

I get that feeling sometimes when I try to tell her what and why I am doing some things. It feels as naturally as breathing to me but every explanation from me brings another 100 questions. Luckily I enjoy teaching.

Sometimes I wonder if trading is as easy as it should be naturally. And all the studying and pushing just makes it more complicated. Experience is needed to relax and get comfortable. In the future I want to teach my girlfriend to trade, that should bring some interesting insights.

You have to learn to let go of the obsession, once you do, trading becomes easy and carefree as it should. Less is more.

    Women and life balance

I think you’ll have a greater chance of finding true love once you let go of binary characteristics and start seeing the person behind it. When you like a flower you pick it, if you love it you water it everyday. Loving someone is setting their own needs before yours and having a person you...
