Why is it good to watch the premium when you trade futures? I thought the purpose is to compare the premium/discount level to the level where programs kick in then you would go long or short stocks that are caught in the program. I don't see the use for trading the eminis.

I use different indicators than for stocks and I think most people do. Index products don't trade like stocks at least like Nasdaq stocks for all I know. I would not trade off a chart of the Q's, better to use the futures IMHO.
