Check out www.register.com. The "whois" search feature. They have financials back to 2001 so I don't know what to make about the domain name registration. I would like to think that when registering a domain, you would do it for more than at year at signup - even if was just to make it...

...both www.alldaytraders.com and www.alliancetrader.com were both RECENTLY registered [only a few months] web domains and www.alliancetrader.com expires in one year. That's kind of scary...isn't it?
