    Swift Trade

Great deduction professor...i've traded with 4 different firms (starting with swift), I suggested he check out a firm that has lots of great traders in the office because i know of them personally. In fact i suggested title as well even though i know very little about them. You didn't...

    Swift Trade

Well you may end up getting it somewhere down the road, you'll soon find out whether you're in this for the long haul or that it's not for you.

    Swift Trade

And then there's disgruntles like this poster who can only bring out the bad in every firm. Tough to imagine anyone this negative is profitable in trading.

Boston Prop - Chimera v. Bright

Most people that pay for training are usually new to the business and probably aren't profitable traders. I'd say it's more of a screen than anything else, otherwise every john, dick and harry would sign up.

    Prop firms for remote traders

LOL you want to trade remote with no deposit?

    Swift Trade

What he said :) Swift is okay to start out but very few stay for the long haul...they have offices everywhere and you just happen to live in an area with a concentration of very good traders trading through Bright in B.C. Check out all the various firms (not sure who else is there...

    Title Trading again

No my comment was not directed to be negative, it was to imply the business model your type of firm has, training a quantity of traders new to the business. I understand what you meant about automation, the topic was recently brought up in my group as the question was proposed regarding...

    Swift Trade

If you're in Vancouver i'd forget swift and look into the pair trading setup...surprised Don hasn't cued in yet. :)

    Title Trading again

Once the traders you manage reach this level what (if any) methods are used to continually progress their development. Is it mostly just up to the individual? I'm just asking i fully understand the business models of these prop firms and the stance you as the manager must take dealing with...

    Title Trading again

I think this is poor advice, considering we don't know all the facts from the OP. It doesn't seem like a very viable strategy, hacking away 150 trades while being in the 100-300 pnl range. If the other traders in the group have made it, but the difference is that they're consistenty...

    Noob needs your advice

Start paper-trading until you can round up more cash, $1000 is useless.

Taking 76K to 500K by Year End

I've read this journal from the beginning and would like to commemorate your honestly and taking the time for each reply. Regardless of the end goal, this journal has served a valuable function, I hope you carry it forward to 2008.

    Dane Cook...Funny or Not?

I'm in my late twenties and like all the low brow, immature toilet humour of shows such as: family guy, chapelle, south park...but don't care for this douchebag at all. The only thing i've laughed with him in it was when he was being portrayed on Mad TV in a mock skit of family guy. Now that...

    Hiding in oil stocks

Why don't you start with Exxon-Mobil...i think they only had 40 billion (net) in profits last year?

    Toronto Trader, all of Ontario

Okay it's not quite as simple as Tums suggested, but for any experienced trader a little bit of studying should be sufficient. I had to go to the U.S. to take it because I went through pearson testing centre, although from what i hear other firms offer the test in Canada.

Bright vs. Genesis vs. Tuco vs. xEcho ?

That would be nice to see, there's a huge pool of talent of Ontario traders...keep us posted with the developments Don.

Bright vs. Genesis vs. Tuco vs. xEcho ?

Well being Canadian a lot of the regulations and legal aspects were foreign to me...that and many of the topics covered were on subjects I knew little about, such as bonds. Obviously the series 7 itself will have little value in becoming a better trader (and in my case in Canada it's...

Bright vs. Genesis vs. Tuco vs. xEcho ?

Whoa, relax killer...i wasn't trying to be smart at all. My comment was meant to suggest that the series 7 really isn't that difficult with adequate preparation and not a major hurdle for any serious trader that wants to be doing this as a career. I learned quite a few things while studying...
